***Notice of Account Closure***

Account Name: **********

Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy

This account was closed because one or more characters were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for "real-world" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy.

Even if this behavior is the result of a third party accessing the account instead of the registered user (for example, a friend, family member, or leveling service) then the account can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.

We've found the above behavior is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/antigold.html

The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask you take a moment to review these terms at http://us.blizzard.com/company/legal/index.html. Note that additional Terms of Use violations may result in more severe actions against this account, up to and including permanent closure.

For any disputes of this action or further information on Exploitive Activity, please visit the Exploitative Activity FAQ and contact page here: http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/exploitfaq

I am not sure really what caused my account to get banned. It could have been that I sold gold on it about 2 weeks ago. It could have been that this was the primary account which all the mats were mailed too and the guild banks were on and Blizz just wanted to hit me where it counted instead of the vanilla accounts. Either way I'm not really sure If i'll continue to bot or not. Since I bought HB less than 1 month ago I've had 2 Perma bans and 1 72 hour ban. I think Blizzard is taking a more aggressive attempt at stopping bots.

The email from blizzard stated I was banned for selling gold but I did receive a 72 hour ban on this same account yesterday before I got the perma ban. The hunter was lvl 56 and I had used the grind bot for 5-6 hours earlier in the day before I got the 72 hour suspension.

WTF That's not fair so they banned you for 72 hours then banned you perm for previous offenses?

Yeah from what the email said. I haven't traded gold on that account for more than two weeks.

ok.. so let me get this straight.. you got a 72hr then a perm ban 24hrs after it took effect for sellng gold. Yet you say thats impossible since you haven't sold gold for more then a few weeks on that account? And then there are those of you saying grinding is not safe anymore...

Let me point out the obvious for those of you that have your glasses fogged up from being in places you shouldn't be.... 72hr is temp.. BUT they state if you do a little research that they will investigate during that time and if they see fit they will make it a perm ban (in your case). As for selling gold, you sold gold and you got caught.. its life.. move on. And as for those of you that have been crying "Grinding isn't safe... " well Chicken Little called and said cut it.. thats his racket.

I do feel for you loosing your main account, i've known a few friends that have had it done to them over the years.. but hopefully you'll be able to learn from your mistakes and bot better in the future.

The reason we were saying grinding isn't the safest way to bot is because Blizzard has been handing out 72 hour suspensions like they are candy lately. I know 3 people not including myself that have gotten 72 hour bans while using grind bots with HB in the last 2-3 days (and no we aren't on the same IP). I realize that I got banned for selling gold and I'm fine with that. I have a vanilla account that I only use for selling gold on now.

Definetly safer to level with Questing/archy/instance.

I havent used grindbot since i got 72 hour suspension about 6 months ago

Cool I think I may give that a shot because it seems Blizz can pick up the grind bots easier because most people don't just kill mobs for hours upon hours without completing any quests... LOL

Not a rip but i thought that was just common knowledge. Looks much more human like if a bot is questing rather than grinding 6 hours straight

so 3 or 4 people out of thousands of accounts.. my point is.. you need to think about what you say before you cry wolf. myself and many others grind ALOT and never get bans/suspensions.. so honestly i highly doubt its cause of grinding. specially since each time people report the grinding (this post included) they admitted they sold gold. <<< Light Bulb >>>

Grinding never get me ban. Just because I was grinding when my toon got banned doesn't mean I was banned for grinding. My main got 72 hour ban, but it was for players report on me because I was afk on the battle ground several days before the ban.

I think jawn has some good points, but with the way people read posts, I am sure they will continue.
1) Know the difference between ban and suspension. Ban is something that is permanent. Suspension is when they give you a time line they will give your account back. Don't post that you have a 72 hour "ban" as that just doesn't make any sense.
2) You were banned for selling gold and you admittedly sold gold. Just because it has been a few weeks since you sold the gold and did not get banned does not mean that you are in the clear. Blizzard is somewhat behind on the logs and as someone said earlier, if they suspect your account will most likely give you a suspension while they investigate. There have been some occasions where they didn't even give the suspension and went straight to the ban from them going through logs.

Again, sorry for your loss on this one. But, botting on an account is risky and selling gold is even riskier.

Please note: Blizzard does retain the right to pretty much ban any account they want at any time. Of course that would be bad business, but that is pretty much the way they wrote their terms in which everyone agrees by clicking that box before playing.

1 Never bot on Main
2 Use Mixed Mode with questing and AV BG
