yes GB mails - no it's not a plugin, it's in the setting that says "mail to alt"

I believe you need the 'Goldseller' version of Gatherbuddy to mail, but I could be wrong. I believe this and the guildvault access is what distinguishes it from 'normal' Gatherbuddy.
