I have a GeForce 9800 GT, but it's old and I think it's failing and causing crashes occasionally, so I'm going to upgrade it. I don't know much about them so I'm looking for suggestions. I don't want top of the line, I just don't want to end up down grading due to lack of knowledge.

after the 9000 series - the new geforce series ranges from models like 2xx-7xx now, so even though they're lower numbers they are the newer ones

I have a geforce 560 ti ( i paid 250 over a year ago , i think these are now around 130 (non ti) and often have promos/sales) its a decent 1gb vid card
this is a huge improvement over a 9800 gt (i had a 9800gtx before this) and at this time it's not top of the line :)

Sweet, thanks. I heard from other people at the time when I bought my computer that my graphics card was weak even back then. I appreciate the response

the GTX 280 would be a decently wise choice considering idk what your other computer spec's are and im sure you want decent performance for around 50 bucks.

otherwise the GTX 650 TI is a pretty good card for avrage + users these days.

8gig ram, 6core 3.4ghz amd proc off the top of my head.

Thanks for the input, I have some comparing to do now :D

Try and find one of these if you can:

EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P3-1469-KR GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Newegg.com

They are great for botting because they have a very high (better than 660ti) fill rate and 2GB memory. I picked up one of these on clearance for $120 at best buy, should have got another one because it performs better than my 660ti for botting. This card would probably run 20 bots no problem.

Thanks for the information, but all of newegg for the cheaper cards under 150$ are sold out :/
