Looking to start up botting, a little lost!

Hey everyone. Looking to start up botting, but I want to do it right. I intend to start off with one account, (Buying $63 Warlords for 90 boost, will be using it on a level 60 for professions. Probably Herb/Mining).

I'm curious as to what profiles are popular and what methods are recommended. As well as any "safety" steps people take.

I want to keep one of my accounts separate from all botting, but I'll need a safe way to transfer items/gold. I was thinking AH method is the best (Selling items for large amounts of gold, like buying gold).

Any suggestions for the best character leveler (horde) would be welcome!

I've briefly looked around to answer these questions on my own, but its been a little frustrating.
 
1. Don't buy a WOD pack, and Don't pay $63 for it.

2. Do buy a Battlechest (No upgrades) and simply use the Bot to level a toon or 2 depending on where you wanna go.Once you max level the Battle chest, decide if it is worth the cost of upgrading vs the risk of losing the account (usually it is not if it is to be a pure Bot farm account).

3. I cannot emphasize this enough if you want any longevity out of the account DO NOT USE PUBLIC PROFILES!!! it's like handing Blizzard a roadmap and telling them that you will be at x=****,y=*****,z=***** at ***** time on *****day. If you want to be successful start learning how to edit profiles, and or create your own or use some form of a randomize plugin or botbase. If that is not an option then I would suggest finding someone that you can buy reliable private profiles from.

4. There is no such thing. The accounts are linked at the most base of form in that you are the user of both, and while even at that basic of a level it is very very rare that Blizz would action the accounts it is still possible, and every thing that you do between them thereafter further increases the risk. Its pretty rare for them to Ban an account that simply interacts with a Bot account in the sense of swapping gold or Mats, but it definitely does happen. The larger the farm, the more Mats or gold the higher the risk. Swapping on the AH (posting crappy items for high price) is probably the worst way to swap gold. All of the gold sellers used to use this method and Blizz is very keen to this type of transaction. Face to Face is ok for smaller amounts <5k. The safest (in my opinion given my track record with it) is Guild Bank swaps.

5. For gathering Toons it is hard to beat a Druid, but there are good arguments for Palas and DKs (DK probably not an option for you since it will be a fresh account).

6. If you are insistent on making a Gathering Bot account and plan on using it >8 hrs a day to make it relevant then you should really know that it is almost defiantly eventually going to be Banned, and you should always plan around that eventuality.

i just want to address this right here. mining and herbing would be your last choice for boosted professions. they are free to level, only taking 2 days tops to level with easily created profiles. Choose 2 professions that go good together, id recommend jewelcrafting[profitable for years now] and enchanting[will be super profitable in the first 2 months of the upcoming expac]

Thanks for your replies.

I don't have much experience with the whole battlechest thing, why is it beneficial? What is the system that experienced botters use for duplicating accounts?

For public profiles vs private, is there a place where you can donate/buy private profiles or something? And what exactly does that mean? Is profile the actual bot program? (One that decides where to go/etc).

With the above advice, I'd probably avoid doing a pure farm bot account, as the risks are a bit too high for my blood. What alternate methods (Such as Jewelcrafting and Enchanting) is there for gold making?

As for transferring money/items between accounts, what exactly is a guild swap? Does that mean my bot account is the GM of a guild, (Or my main account?) and then the bot deposits money into the guild bank and then my main account takes out?

I've already bought about 200k worth of gold on my main account through the auction house method, which I am now slightly worried. But I don't intend to repeat that so I can reduce the risk of my main account being canned.

You should still have a farm bot. I just wouldnt use a boost to get gathering professions leveled. it is rather easy to level them up with bot profiles.

So i would just level a herb/mining druid and use that to gather mats for the production toon you boost.
 
Mk. The one guy said buying a warlords account is a waste, would you agree with that?

Also wondering where people get "private" profiles. Or the paid ones. I'd be interested in investing in some of those profiles.

spend a day just reading posts here on the forums. all the different sections. remember to read the posters signatures at the bottom. many will offer free profiles, or skype contacts. reach out to people through PMs. they will more likely help you if you show you are motivated towards botting and not just wasting our time asking the same questions over and over waiting for us to tell you our secrets.
 
$63 for one boosted acct with 2 professions or 5 battlechest (RAFed and leveled to 85 in 1 day using DB. Leaving, 5 X level 85, w/29 days game time to farm back my $50 investment) Think I will take B
