So ever since the bans happened, I've been hunting the net and seeing what I can find out about "Warden" and if there are any ways to beat it. So far, as I'm sure of you know, I've come up with exactly zip.
However, I have come across some interesting posts, that I do have questions about.
"there are other options out there if you do in fact what to know EXACTLY what warden is monitoring, as you do have the right to know what information a program is accessing on your computer/ information system (court ruling). Blizzard will not, nor do they have the obligation to tell you freely though. YES by installing the game you do agree to allow blizz to freely scan your RAM and some other misc data. YES it is legally binding. YES you can manually implement tools that prevent warden from doing its job properly so long as it still is 1) on your machine and 2) functioning (while it may not be getting what its looking for, it is still looking for it). and finally YES you may use programs that monitor EXACTLY what warden sees, tracks, logs, and reports back to home. However (as it is well known to the learned) the Warden system performs a DLL scan at startup to see what's running and periodically takes snapshots of the same, compares whats running to a database of known "cheat" programs, and sends back a simple "yes or no" home to blizz. A yes from the warden system activates a "flag" on your account and you will more than likely be investigated. Since warden has been around since about 2006/2005 theres is ALOT that is known about it, what it does, and what it used to do. Technically, yes, warden is spyware. however you agreed to have and keep it so long as WoW is on your IS (information system)."
So, as I'm still a noob to this whole botting thing, is there any way to hide/change the .DLL so that "Warden" doesn't pick up on it? I have already renamed the .exe file. However, that's only a fraction of what "Warden" picks up on. If I was to rename the .DLL would that work? Or would it cause conflicts within HB itself? And would that even make a difference at all?
I'm not a programmer so code is exactly that to me, code. So that being said, is there something within the .DLL itself that screams, "Hey Blizz, I'm cheating and using Honorbuddy"? And if so, how would I go about changing that?
