Yesterday i saw a amazing offer from my local gameshop, D3 EU 20? each copy.
Don't order too fast, delivery is restricted to Austria:
http://www.mediamarkt.at/mcs/produc...Gi-uncut),10255,346145,269691.html?langId=-15

Will receive 10 copies in a few days, but i am still not sure if it was the best idea...
I don't have hardware ressources left to run more copies (nor the time) and there are many many upcoming questions:

- is 20? really a damn good offer? Even in a few months? I mean, Diablo 3 is getting older, maybe when the next banwave happens the price already dropped

- do you also have the same amount of keys left to compensate your loss when a banwave happens or did i spend 200? a bit too fast?

- i am tending to let the new keys untouched because i don't have the possibility for a new ip/new hardware to level "save" and manually in the meanwhile. I think level profiles got better in the last weeks and 1-60 is doable in a short time.

- i think the banwave "could happen" very late; right after D3 Expansion launch. Why? It would hurt the most, when multi-botter get banned after they bought D3+Expansion Key. Do you think we will already get sued with the upcoming pvp patch or do you also think the ban-free period will continue?

- Any rough estimates about the arrival of the patch, the expansion and the PRICE of the expansion? You think they will offer a cheap set price D3+Expansion right from start?

- got some red/green Radiant Gems in stock and ~1 Bil. Gold. The gems had a huge price drop, you also stock up gems?

- i think pvp patch will arrive in about 2 weeks and the expansion in about 6 months. what do you think?

P.S.: don't take this too serious, i just want to start a little chitchat about the future of D3-Multi-Botting and the investments vs profits. If you want to participate, just post your thoughts :)

20e is a very good price
i might buy a few from you :)
as for diablo i don't think it's dead just yet as some noobs around here make it and there aren't alternatives currently . if it will be dead in the future no idea but currently it's not

Game over folks, according to x fire data, D3 has lost 90 % of player base since launch, in this speed most ppl be barely remember what was "diablo 3" by the next xmas, and then blizz will just cancel development of d3 xpac seeing that the couldnt make any longer trillion dollar on it.

Stop being so negative all the time if you wanda quite then quite stop spreading all that negative energi. The World dident go under on the 21th december either. Items and money are still selling so just Be harpy with that and lets just se what the future brings none of the games that where supposed to tip D3 of has done it yet, the playerbase isent as Big as we would like but still it is there.

People want d3 to be good. The dueling patch will be massive. Gigantic gold sinks and hordes of returning players all eager to fight each other. Next few patches will probably iron out dueling issues and add in more content. First x-pac will probably at least double or tripple the player base for a long while. They released this game unfinished and I expect the xpac will contain some massive changes that brings d3 to the quality that d2 hit at LoD release.

This is bliz. They don't just make a title and let it die. They may fuck up horribly and release something in a rotten state but they stick with it and get it working. I expect a nice supplemental income from D3 for many years to come.

you think low lvl PvP will attract some people?
Got some nice -18lvl-requ legendaries in stock but i dunno if they will sell (or survive till patch)

I also think the expansion will make a giant *boom* in the market, but i also expect that we need large investments. Many keys and many time needed.

The most valuable and costly thing in D3 Botting is:
- experience
- hardware
- keys

I intend to quit if things will go in current direction, but i will do this after incoming patch will probably revive market for a short time, therefore giving me few extra bucks to cover further investments in botting other game. And thats not playerbase which is worring me but overal tendency, id prefer if playerbase was around 1k on x fire, but STABLE 1k, currently D3 population is dropping like a stone and all patches that came didnt do much in that matter.

Sorry to burst Your bubble, but iv read on d3 offcial forums that blizz canceled pvp made up by Jay Wilson which was basicaly what we get now, along with option to play in teams, because internal testers said that they werent interested to play this without any "reward", now out of desperation blizz is releasing same thing which they earlier rejected, only under different name (BRAWLING instead of dueling), but obviously it will not do any good. But on the other hand Youre on US, where some ppl would play d3 and throw hundreds of dollars in it even if it was in fact tetriss... Also dont know what "gold sinks" do u speak off, that bind to account items crafting which will destroy rmah item tradeing perhaps ? Blizz has no vison what to do with this game, they are acting erratically, for an instance they introduced paragon lvl, but in latest patch they are withdrawing from it increasing rate of xp gain. Now when Jay was fired, implementation of new content will slow even more, because they will have to find new lead designer, and this new designer will need time to get into this mess left by his predecessor.

don't get me wrong diablo3 is crap and i wouldn't be playing it manually without a major change in everything however 70% of what im selling is selling which shows peps are still playing it and apparently like it :) since they are buying
the economy is not what it used to be BUT veterans will always know how to sell , noobs will cry on the forums :)

Prolly You will be able to get few bucks of this game even in a year from now, but "investment" plans like op is considering, while prices for everything in this game are plummeting (for an instance gems has lost 20% RMAH value within last week) is just dellusional.

You do realize that X-fire is a small sampling of the D3 playerbase? I hate it when people take X-fire data as an accurate representation. May as well look at D3 forum usage as an indicator...

Theres no reason to not assume that whats happen in x fire reflects overall situation in d3 playerbase, so if 1/3 playerbase in x fire has left d3, its logical to assume that d3 has lost about 1/3 players overall, unless someone provides evidence that whats happening on x - fire has nothing to do with real number of players in games listed there.

You don't have to have evidence because x-fire is a very small sample of d3 players. Therefore you can't even say its logical that a 1/3 of players have quit just because a 1/3 have on x-fire. The reason.....MOST people don't get on x-fire or have even heard of it for that matter. A good example is me...this thread is the first time i've heard x-fire mentioned in almost a decade..lol. I forgot about it.

I see where you are coming from, and x-fire might be a small sample of the d3 players. But x-fire was a small sample of SW:TOR too, but it looked like it ended up as a pretty good indicator at that instance.
I am not expecting x-fire or twitch to be a spot on indicator, i use neither. But as above, it is fine as an indicator of what condition a game is in.

When thinking about keys however, i think 20euros per key is a pretty solid investment. We might not be pulling in as much cash now as we did before, but we are still making a profit.

Even if we disregard x-fire data there still other hints supporting my conclusion like :

- They fired Jay Wilson, it would be extremely naive to think that it was only because several hundreds ranting nerds in forums, while game is doing fine
- While they are happily bragging about number of sold copies, they wont say a word about number of active players, even when wow has lost several millions of subscribers they announced this, so if they are silent about d3 it likely mean that situation is so horrific that making it public would hurt further sales of d3.

I agree the game is in bad shape..heck we all know that, but I'm also positive like many others. If this game was made by some other company rather than blizz I would be negative, but that not the case. Blizz has the rep and know-how and this game is going dark and may be that way for a while, but I would bet that this is just the beginning. It won't die.

i dont really care if d3 looses its playerbase. most players will never spend a dime on the rmah anyway, i sure as hell would not myself. as long as the diehards stay everything is peachy.

If people really wanted to play the next patch, wouldn't they be playing now for those PLs :O

Mistake with that thinking is based on forgetting, or ignoring fact that most if not all ppl who made Blizzard name famous has already left and made their won games like PoE or GW. If You take can after caviar, and put pork inside, it wouldnt change to caviar. It all started to break when Blizzard was bought by Activision, and frankly im starting to think that Activision "businessplan" was all along to use Blizzard reputation (not even resources, because most old employes found themselves soon fired, just the name) to make some extremly dumbed games for kids and retards which combined with this reputation would sell in millions, earning quick profit at the cost of ruining blizzard good name, and when this cow would get totally milked, just close it down, and disperse remaining staff through different departments. Just look at Blizz recent "idea" about pvp :

"After reviewing feedback from the PTR, we've decided to rename dueling to brawling?a title we feel is much more fitting for the system. Rather than wait to announce this in the official patch notes, we wanted to let players know ahead of time, in part to reduce confusion and in part to explain the reasons behind the change"

"We?ve no further changes planned for brawling at this time, but we?re excited to see what kind of havoc players will wreak in the Scorched Chapel once the patch is released."

This is just hopeless...
