Anyone here running 50+ bots?

well if you were you probably wouldn't say publicly. Feel free to pm me, maybe we can exchange knowledge.

Thinking about ordering parts for a computer(s) that can run 40-50 bots smoothly in the near future.

2 builds that I'm contemplating:

Build #1)

  • dual xeon e5-2620 (2.0 ghz), 6 core cpu. $400x2 = $800
  • supermicro barebones server $800
  • 250gb SSD $150 (I may need 1TB of space actually)
  • 64 gb ECC ram $500
  • 3x radeon 6950 $600

Total cost about $3000 after tax.
Will be running windows server 2008 r2, remotefx,
Problem with this build is that I don't think the case can fit 3 cards, even though it has 3 pci-e slots: Newegg.com - SUPERMICRO SYS-7037A-I Mid-Tower Server Barebone Dual LGA 2011 Intel C602 DDR3 1600/1333/1066/800
Also, i think remotefx can only support 12 virtual machines per GPU, not sure how that works.

Build #2)

2 computers,
3930k (3.8 ghz) 6 core = $500
mobo = $150
120gb SSD = $100
32 GB ram = $130
radeon 6950 = $200
psu = $50
case = $50

Total cost approx $1300 x 2 = $2600

If I go with this build I'd be running vmware on win 7, it could probably run 15-20 bots each.

after all the xeon e5-2620 isn't overclockable.

hex core 2.0gz vs hex core 3.8 ghz..

I think you should be fine on any of those. I'd go with the all in one system. in case you get banned you won't have a second system just sitting there doing nothing

What mobo are you going for here? I'm just wondering because it looks nice and I'd consider it myself :P

dunno, any that's under $200 and works.

I'd prefer to have one system instead of two, less power, heat.. takes up less space

Just eyeballing those systems, I don't think you will be able to run 50 bots.

why not? one 3930k system can run 25-30 bots in isboxer or some other multiboxing program, though that's the fastest way to get banned.

edit: i guess there is no such thing as dual 3930k in one system.

would dual xeon E5620, 4 core 8 threads (overclocked to 4.0 ghz)
be better than
dual xeon E5-2620, 6 core 12 threads (2.0 ghz, cannot be overclocked, or not much)

since I'm not after high FPS gaming, the E5-2620 should theoretically perform the same or better?

still can't decide.

i found a vps provider who provides GPU acceleration though. Currently testing =]

If cost of the computer is even a consideration for you, then you can't afford to do this.

Total cost of Demonbuddy keys at $25 a key = $1250

Total cost of gear to farm act 3 champ profile $3750 (100milx50accountsx$.75) Remember the shear amount of gear your buying will raise the buyout prices. Might be way more the 100mil per toon...

Total cost of getting your accounts linked and banned ONCE = $6750 (Keys $60 x 50 = $3000 + Gear lost $3750)

Good luck bro...

It's not the cost I'm considering, but which build I'm less likely to run into problems on. I don't want to purchase a $3000 system that doesn't do what it's intended. Also, I don't remember asking anyone for help with math.

Total cost of Demonbuddy keys at $25 a key = $1250 who ever said that I was going to use this unstable pos bot? cost of bot = $0

never mentioned champion farming either. Only costs me 5m to gear each toon.

I know what I am doing, and i've been doing it safely, for 2 months now. Chances of link ban are low. I can break even in 4 days, so bans wont stop a determined botter.
wrong again, cost of each account is $30. If you're paying $60 you're doing it wrong. 50 x $30 = $1500

Good luck bro...

sounds like you're patronizing me, since it doesnt seem like you really bothered to read my post, but thanks, i guess?

I have 3930k and overclocked it to 5.0 ghz and I can't run more than than 15 bots ( not using VMware) . Vmware uses more resources so you should think twice before making decision.

hahaha, what a fag. why come on the db forum to ask about a computer setup (which wont run 40, let alone 50 bots anyway) if you dont even want to use this "unstable pos bot"?

get out please.

cus i originally invested more money into DB than you ever have, but they've since let me down.

looks like someones butthurt, if you dont have any useful information get the fuck out. there's no need for faggy brownnosers here.

I don't hate DB that much, but since you brought it up, I'm in this community to make money, and keep up-to-date on blizzard's movements. Not to kiss the ass of people who don't give a shit about fixing their bot and adding basic functions that even free bots have.

Alfajr, if you wanna take 1 month to break-even that's your deal, noob. Go take a business class. /wrist.
Once again, I'm here to make money, not play around with my dick. I have no interest in the game and as someone who played the original diablo, honestly I think D3 is a piece of shit too.

that's strange. i knew a guy running 50 bots on 2x 3930k without vmware. Yea I know vmware uses more resources, just so you know I'm not new to botting, i've been running 20+ bots for some time now, but on i7 quad cores and that uses a lot of electricity and generates too much heat.

who ever said that I was going to use this unstable pos bot? cost of bot = $0

I'm glad you decided to come here to leach off the community for help, in supporting your pirated POS "free" bot and money making scheme. I'm also sorry the devs havn't lived up to your standards. Did you also know that nobody gives a F#@k?

Go take a business class /wrist.

I'm a MBA canidate at a business week T10 school. I'm really interested in the details of you business education, please elaborate...

Well your going to loose all of if you continue with this poorly thought out "plan." Also, this is a demonbuddy forum. Nobody cares about your sexual escapades.

honestly I think D3 is a piece of shit too.

Sounds like you just hate everything :( Maybe you should take up a new hobby, like playing tiddly-winks alone in the closet?
