So what do you guys think??

I go in LFR and it seems that the lowest skilled, lowest DPS gets TEH gear and I figure Blizz would fix it in MoP. But what they're doing is, letting their own automated system award the players randomly with gear. I wonder how the system will determine if its an upgrade or NOT.

This issue is so often discussed I'm not quite sure why another thread is needed (not sure about on here, but it's all over other WoW forums).

However, there's 25 people in LFR and only 4 bits (I think it's 4) of loot drop from a boss. Even taking roles into account, you don't need to be Einstein to work out that the chances of you winning an item aren't great. If someone wins an item and they are bottom of the dps meter, in all honestly, they probably need it more than you. Also a lot of people adopt the mentality that if you can need on an item, need on it regardless.

So what can we do to address this?
  • Role a tank -there's only 1 other person competing for your loot
  • If you're not capable of tanking, go healer - there's only 5 others to roll against
  • Avoid being a dps - not only do you have a 1 in 18 chance of winning an item, you're probably also queueing for about 20-30 mins to get in whilst the other roles get in much quicker
  • You can also do as Teveel mentioned and get some friends to raid with, if you don't have any WoW friends, go join a guild and get some
  • Make a weekly pug advertising it in /trade. Maybe a chore to get going but you never know. The loot is also better running normal raids rather than LFR's

Overall, I think LFR is a good thing, but I don't expect to get loot. It pays Valor points which when my characters have just dinged 85 come in handy, but I only ever do them with new level 85's, I really can't see the point in doing them for fun.

I tend to find that the people at the bottom of the dps meter can often be outdamaged by my resto shammy, so I doubt gear would help but maybe a kick up the backside and a good guide to their class rotations would be more the thing.

I pretty much follow this logic.
