Yes, its bad advice, but it answered your question.

Seriously though,
Grinding is the only technique that seems to be truly AFK-able. You can abate some of the grinding risk--you just have to switch up hunting grounds every so often (you can easily write a 'quest order' profile to grind like this), or log out after a period of time. Katzerle also has a 'profile switcher' plugin that you can probably employ to help with this, if you're unable to write a 'safe' grinding profile.

The more complex techniques like questing is not as AFK-able mostly due to getting hung up on navigational problems, or quirky things like an aura-generating pet not being 'out' (which causes you to grind forever). Some of these are HB bugs, some of these are profiles not addressing boundary conditions like reconstituting 'state' after player deaths (to be honest, doing this is a herculean effort), and some of these problems are bugs in the WoWclient itself.

Looks like the latest drop of HB (5064) may have repaired some of the navigational issues. But, navigational issues will always exist. For instance, dynamic doodads are not visible to Honorbuddy. Things like seasonal decorations will always give it fits.

PvP may get you some nice gear quickly, but PvPers take their game much too seriously, and will report anything that they don't like.

Everything has tradeoffs, the key is to find what you can live with versus the risk you're willing to accept. Practicing 'safe botting practices' is always smart. But, if you fear for being banned, you shouldn't be botting.
