Ive those ingame items, that I'm selling... For either gold, or cash.


Happens I got a decent offer for this item vs cash.

Now my question is what method should I use to avoid getting scammed?

Ive heard some not so good things about paypal... Confirm/deny please..

Western Union or similar, moneybookers is the same as paypal when it comes to credit cards.

Playerauctions.com if you REALLY care about not being scammed. They take a portion of whatever you sell as a fee, and it is a little bit of a pain in the ass to sell something there, but 100% scam free once a sale goes through.

Is Paypal really that crap? If so: Why?

Is it still crap, if I get the buyer to pay as a gift. What if I take screenshots of the mails he sent me on the forums + in game chat + in game trades to verify that he got the item (JUST in case he makes problems after the transaction)

Reasons paypal sucks, Paypal is intended to be used as a payment method for EBAY, As you can not confirm that the item IE Virtual Currency actually arrived at the designated area (Dont say a screen shot is proof, Easily faked/manipulated b.s. proof) Paypal will not even look into the case for a seller of virtual game items. And side with the buyer to protect them.

Sending with a gift is a semi block, any one with social engineering skills can manipulate this method...

it will save you from a 12 year old kid but that is about it.
