Hi gusy!

I just recently got my perma banned account lifted - however I recieved a 72h ban instead.

Quetsion is; should I appeal this? - I mean they found me "unguility" after 2nd review, why give me a 72h ban?

If truely unguilty (my accusation was to sell gold, and on that matter I am unguility) Id appeal a 72h ban as well, wouldn't I?

After a careful investigation of your account closure, we have agreed to remove the permanent suspension of your account from the World of Warcraft servers.

Your account is now under a temporary suspension (72 hours), due to breach of our policies.

What other "breaches" could they talk about, that they didn't mention in the first mail?

Just be patient and lay low for 3 days.

If you were charged with molesting a child, and later found unguility... Would you serve 10 years, just because you were charged in the first place?
Why punish you, if they find you unguilty after "careful investigation"

Just be grateful. Some people cannot get a ban overturned.

You risk provoking them into change the ban back.

I remember your name back from Pirox times! And you were nice and helpful on that forum. Glad to see you here!

I know I might be in a lucky position, but however I dont understand they reasoning for suspending my account, AFTER they found in unguility in the charges - that really REALLY makes no sense, and I want them to see that as well...
I mean if you "accept" the 72h ban, wouldn't they go off thinking; okay he accepted that - maybe he did something he wasnt allowed to do, afterall.

appeal it... deffo

you got banned, then lifted, to a 72 hours, cause after carefull investigation they found shit..

this is what i mean when people post this... appeal it.. its like telling blizz, ok, you got me... now

i will be more carefull.... ok blizz says, we give you a 72 hours instead... bullshit

appeal it. If needed by phone... they didnt found anything, still leave you with a 72 hours, thats ... gay!

No-one here, including the OP, can say for sure if the investigation found evidence of anything or not.
Also, we do not know what their internal policy is for dealing with botters / exploiters.
For all we know, they may go easier on those that bring them a lot of $$$'s in paid character transfers, faction changes etc - we just don't know.

If it's an account you care about, I'd lay low for 72 hours and then play by hand for a week or two. Do dailies, run dungeons etc.

Glad you got it back anyway, and good luck! :)

I care shit for the account, other than the many lvl chars (with pvp gear only) and the.. 50k gold or so on my main botter... :)

Hello.

After reviewing the action against your account, we were able to verify that there has been no outside access to your account and that Third Party Software was used to exploit the game.

As such, we removed the ban from your account and placed a 72 hour suspension on it.

Any further incidents of Third Party Software use will result in the permanent closure of this account.

This action is not negotiable and we now consider this matter closed.

I guess botting is now only a minor offense, similiar to spamming and trolling - lol on them.

It depends on the GM that is doing the review of the case, you had a realistic chance to get a perma ban again after appealing for the second time. Restrain from such things, you were banned for botting in the first place not for the abuse of economy etc. It's just a generic message most people receive when they get banned. Next time, just endure through the 3 days and live on. You do understand that you are guilty in this case, right? You do understand that Blizz can ban you and unban you at will, it's their game, their rules. You were lucky the second time imo, if it was another Game Master you would have ended up perma banned with no further disputes.

GM name removed - but why is that smart to do?

Guilty... Both yes and no.
Guilty in botting? Most certainly.
Guilty in exchaning gold for $ (which was the initial ban reason)? No, not at all.

Because this forum is open source information.
Any Blizzard employee could view it and report back to the GM in question.
Personally I think it's unlikely, but it's not a smart risk to take.

Okay, thank you for the heads-up :)
