Leveling a mage.

Im currently leveling a mage after leveling a shaman... Im level 33 in desolace at the moment and getting 12kexp/hour at the most, I can't remember but im pretty sure my shaman was alot higher than that. Obviously its going to be high but should a mage be that slow? Im using Project E CC for mage as frost spec. Anyone got any suggestions on how to increase the Exp/hour? Thanks :)
 
yeah clothies have low exp gains as they need to grind at things a few levels lower or drink and eat more then a pally or a dk.. i think your okay

try mixe mode at arathi basin or wsg and see if that improves it and get better equipment if you can i always stack intellect or spell power for brute force thru mobs or critting alot
 
yea, thats about normal, mages pick up faster at later levels, or once you can start doing AV.
 
keep it going though, you'll be cranking out 1or2 shot pyros in no time

actually thought id try some Spirit gear while lvling my spriest, no drinking required! obv w/ spirit tap too :)

off topic, but while I was lvling my priest by hand, for the first 60 lvls or so, all I would do is bubble and wand them to death.
 
yes mages are a hard class to bot mine is now 40 and he can handle up to 3 mobs now the same level.

Back when he was 20 - 35 he was very bad even with single target pulls...the last one i botted was raffed to 60 so it didn't really matter and at 51 they get the water elemental + glyph they are much easier to bot..

RAF with a paladin (I've done it). Once in Outland it is must easier.
 
I have botted my mage to 30 via grinding, and intend to level purely via pvp now. I am amazed how fast this can be. My pally and rogue went from 30-60 in a matter of a few days pvp leveling. Plus with the gained honor, you can get some gear. However I like to save for the 60 stuff. I am spitting blood that the Merciless Gladiator stuff isn't available via honor anymore... Shows how long it has been since my last 70 lol.
 
yeah im currently botting my mage at level 40, he's doing ok, just as you mentioned a bit slow, its my first toon that i've botted with HB though so I thought it was normal lol.

Gonna try a bit of questing botting now, see if that speeds things up :)
 
Thanks for the replies :) Im gonna run a few instances to get some gear then try mixed for a while and see how that goes.

Try warlock if you think that clothies have low exp gains ;) Just remember to get voidwalker from quest ASAP.

i have 2 of every class all botted lol and locks are my main i know all about them
