Wanted to say I botted my shaman from ~54 to 80 in about a week and a half (ish?) with Honorbuddy with the MIXED profile, farming mobs and doing BG's. Weekend Call to Arms played a big part. 79-80 only took an hour and a half :D

I've been using HB for a bit now, farming honor and mobs on my main, and got my shaman up recently :P I otherwise never woulda gotten the shaman to 80, but now I am happily enjoying heroics and gearing it up!

Grats man! I've been running a new shaman after getting banned from Ebot (What a poopy program :( ) I'm at 70 right now, I must say everything is going pretty well and I've barely had any Whispers. Did you run any afk time while in BGs? I haven't used the BG yet but I guess I need to if its as fast as you claim.

Good luck to you sir.

It's only really fast on the weekends when you get like 20% per win in AV (Call to Arms especially).

As long as I didn't swap dualspecs and screw with the abilities while the program was running I didn't get flagged afk at all. I monitored it a lot (mostly as it's on the same accnt as my toon that I raid with in a top guild) so I was super anal about not getting banned, but I didn't experience too many whispers.

Edit:

I did let it run for some periods without really watching it, but wasn't in anything larger than a few hours in span. I know there are people that use HB that run it for a full day without really watching it, so it really comes down to how much you want to risk it :P

Yeah, I've lost a main account man, you don't want to do it. I'm planning on Botting a shaman to 80 and a Paladin to 80 and then getting an alt account to farm (possibly 2) with. I would suggest not botting once you get some gear worth while. I'm mainly pissed that I will never do the achievements that I did on my old account, but I guess thats how the botting game works.

Do you happen to remember your xp/h around 70? Mines around 70-90k/hr which seams kinda slow. Takes like 5 - 8 hours to level so when you said hour and a half i was like whoaaaa.

Weekend BG's will be your big push, as the ques are super short and you get a shitton of exp when you win. Experience from BG's during the week really depend on if you win or not. I want to say I was queing for stuff and averaging a level every 3-4 hrs, but the que times had been fairly terrible so I was farming mobs between ques (Hence the mixed bot setting).

Obv you will level faster by playing on your own (I actually did this a lot during the week or when bg lvling was slow to maintain a somewhat decent set of gear), but it's nice to not have to burn yourself out (I have 4 80's, 3 of which I lvld on my own and fuck I hate questing).

I'd say ban chance with HB is relatively low as they maintain the bot well, has a great warden check system (sometimes it's too good because It will drop me due to internet flickering, etc), and has a great community.

What I did to prevent being seen as a bot was I joined a guild, talked to people in guild/chat/whispers every now and again, kept my gear up-to-date as best as I could, and didn't do the same thing for really long periods of time. If I'd run a mixed bot, I'd farm for a few hrs in one location, then move it to the next -- so as to prevent someone seeing it as a bot.

Keeping to yourself, not updating gear frequently, and doing the same pattern for too long all leads to a higher chance of getting banned.

You may already be doing these, but to maximize your XP per Hour you should run in Mixed mode. If its a Call to Arms weekend be sure to select the appropriate battleground. The rest of the time it depends on luck of the draw and what other toons you get grouped with. You make a great deal more XP if you have a winning average in battlegrounds than if you lose everyone. The info panel in HB can tell you the wins vs losses so you can gain some insight into how lucky you have been.

For regular grinding consider turning off looting, skinning, herbing, and mining. While they help make gold and provide mats which is important, they slow you down and don't provide any additional XP, thus decreasing your XP per Hour. Some people are against turning off looting because leaving unlooted carcasses everywhere can draw attention, especially if they are skinnable and one of your toons professions is skinning.
