I'm interested in seeing if anyone has come across at least a semi-proven (ie. not just anecdotal) set of settings or overall usage approach that can at least minimize the occurrence of Captchas that I now see popping up in the middle of Pokefarmer sessions using fairly conservative settings.
(FYI...I searched and read all previous threads/posts on this topic before posting, but did not see anything focusing on the latest round of Captchas that started after the mid-Nov ban wave)
In terms of what I've tried (without consistent success), includes:
- walking speed w/ random stops
- limited number of Pokestops and Catches per hour (under 50)
- botting in an area (Central Park) that is only a few blocks from where I live (so my regular home IP address will geolocate basically to exactly where I'm botting with using a VPN or Proxy)
- swapping different accounts at least as often as the built-in kill switch (so no one account is running more than 8 hrs per day)
- No sniping (some have distant past sniping, but many have none)
- All have teams assigned, have been played via the iphone app by a real person, and have had some purchases with most having a small pokecoin balance (via iTunes)
- Accounts are a mix of Ptc and Google with no captchas prior to the mid-Nov ban wave
- I'm not a professional botter or seller with hundreds or thousands of accounts....these are basically for me and other family members with a few extra account for fun and pokefarming)
- None of my account have ever been perma banned (including a few at lvl 35 and 36)
Despite the above approach, I'm still seeing pre- and intra- sessions Captchas. The pre-session ones don't bother me, but the intra-session ones will stop the session if I can't manually solve the Captcha with in a few minutes.
Some thoughts on possible causes (some of which I can't do anything about) that I can think of are:
- I do sometimes run more than one account at a time on my home wifi (ie. IP Address)...but this is also a perfectly normal and legit situation
- The accounts I use are all over lvl 30 and have almost all received soft-bans at some point in time (though a few are 99% legit accounts with no previous botting/sniping, etc)
- I bot almost always in the same place in Central Park...though again, this is 3 blocks from where I live and where my normal IP Address geolocates to
- I've tried farming in other spots close by and still get the Captchas
Has anyone else found settings or rules that have stopped the Captchas from popping up that started occurring after the latest mid-Nov ban wave?
