*Kinda* Banned

So last night I got two emails from blizzard, each saying that an account had been banned due to malicious use of the economy of whatever bs they call that. This already seemed suspicious to me seeing as both wow accounts were on the same blizzard login, but the second hasn't been active for almost three years. Upon looking in to my problem I found out this so far.

My password was changed
An authenticator was added to my account (I had one on about a year ago but I took it off because I was traveling too much)
My PayPal had been charged for a realm transfer
My PayPal had been charged for a faction change

I've already put in a ticket and am waiting for a response now. I am currently on hold with PayPal to get the charges taken off. I also just received an email from blizzard saying that both the realm transfer and faction change were canceled. I feel like I really have a good case so let's see how it goes.

I do think its funny that it took me getting hacked to get caught lol.

Getting your account stolen/compromised has nothing to do with HB. Why'd you post a ban report? Essentially it was the other guy who got caught, not you.

cause ive been botting pretty heavy during the time of the ban. anything that was stolen or transfered was earned from botting, and im talking about quite a bit of mats and gold. until i hear back from blizzard i wont be able to find out for what reason i was actually banned.

im almost under the thinking that my account could possibly be flagged, so when it was hacked and someone tried (probably did) steal all of the (cheated) items, it locked it?

i just dont know

Whoever got your account probably got smacked for selling gold using all of your mats. Likely listed all of them on the AH and moved the gold as quickly as possible while the account was still active.

Personally I'd drop the account if it was compromised, even if you managed to get it back. I would think that Blizz would put a flag on it if they reopened it, plus if it was banned for selling gold, you don't want that kind of mark connected with any of your other accounts. Might be best to recover your PayPal charges and call it a day with that particular account.

well i just got off the phone with blizzard and it seems like pretty much everything is fixed. (hopefully) they unbanned both accounts and restored what looks like all (at least most [in the process of inventorying everything now]). im with you though M_M, im gonna get a new account in the next month or so and just leave this one. this couldve gone way worse, and they couldve taken SOOO much more if i had been botting for more than two months lol.
