Just got scammed! Please give me some advice!

Hello guys!

A couple days ago i sold gold to 2 guys. the first guy bought 70k for 135$ the 2. bought 18k for 54$. I got the money to paypal, traded them the gold. Now i see that they want their money back on paypal. They won't respond on msn if i write to them.

For the 18k trade i had screenshot and sent to paypal with msn logs, for the 70k trade i only had msn log and sent it to paypal.

What more could i do? Did you ever been in this shit?

I will provide you the scammers emails:

If i ever privately sell, I make sure that they Gift the money... end of story

As far as you go... its intellectual property, so I dunno.
 
Ya, I know this shit and you will unfortunately lose probably.
That's why I took back then only Ukash and exchanged it to paypal
by a serious exchanger.

+ Ukash can't be reclaimed
+ Ukash is easy to buy everywhere
+ Ukash is safe

- You will lose some money due to exchanger
 
How long does it take for paypal to respond usually? anyone knows?
 
sometimes days sometimes weeks. write it off, that money is gone you will not win/get it back. when they pay using make them put it as a gift, not a service, not an item.
 
And any possibilites of getting the gold back through gm? like " they sold me gamecard for gold , and i didn't recieve the gamecard"?

not possible , exchaging gamecard for in game currency is also against blizzard term of service, so you wont get you your gold back that way
 
Im sorry but your gold is gone.

If you are selling privately, you need to make sure they send the money as a GIFT. This way they can not try to take it back.

Sorry, but at least you learned something today.

It should be more like "yeah I was afk logged in as soon as I came back mostly of my gold was gone (or all dunno how much u sold)"
or even "FUCK GM HELP ME I GOT FUCKING HACKED OH MY GOD WHAT AM I DOIN NAO?!?!? ROFLCOPTER USELESS GM
GIEF MAH MONEY BACK than u should threat them with I'm gonna quit wow and dont forget to troll the wow forum" should also solve the problem but maybe not in a good way.

I'm sure most of these payments that are recalled are marked as "unauthorized". if so the gift option will not matter and it will still be recalled.

you will not recover virtual items for real world money. Its been said over and over again. Doing it the paypal method you are taking a risk. As as been time and again.... have it gifted to you via paypal or have them send it western union(fees suck).
While I use invoices to bill people via paypal nothing is guaranteed when it comes to virtual items or service.

Does anyone know if creating an invoice with a text like "virtual goods...no paypal buyer protection" helps?

All I know is that it doesn't help against unauthorized payment...but i don't know what's about the other way.
 
to be honest, NO. I do it so I have a record of losses(hasn't happened yet). Since the item is intangible paypal doesn't protect you, it really goes the same with service as well. Basically you are not getting paid for virtual items, you are getting paid for the time(service) it took you to gather said virtual item. As long as anything is intangible paypal will not protect the seller basically. The only real way is like western union where they have to show id etc to send money.
You might be better protected using a credit card processor such as intuit, authorize net too name a few.
For my main business(not gaming) I use accounting software to print and send invoices to clients and then run their cards manually through a processor, again it would be tough to claim fraud since you invoice them, they give you their info which includes full name, address, cc security code etc and you are invoicing for a service not virtual goods. Of course this is just a thought pertaining to selling virtual gaming transactions. But processing in this manner comes with a monthly fee and other charges.

I just had a similar thing with the same person i've included this inflammation in my report to paypal won't amount too much, but hoping that as there seems to be a pattern here now paypal will find in my favour (not holding my breath btw.) Western Union from now on,.
 
PayPal will likely not help you at all with virtual currency charge backs. They will ask you for a shipping # and such, which you are obviously unable to provide.

Take your loss and learn from the mistake. Any business where you sell a product or good to make money, physical or virtual brings charge back costs, they are calculated into business expenses. Unfortunately, virtual item sales have high charge back rates, but there are many guides around this site and others that help you buy/sell/trade virtual items safely. You should check them out.

Some basic tips:

If a price/offer seems to good to be true, it generally is.
Always sell to and buy from reputable people when using paypal.
