issue with HB

i do not have a regular wow account and i was wondering does this work with private servers at all? if it does how do i set it up to log in i keep getting this when i try to log in:

Authenticating..
Could not connect to the authentication server. It may be too busy to process your request. Please wait a few minutes and try again!
Authentication failed.

and every time i start hb it says this:

You have not selected a valid instance of WoW to attach to!
Please restart Honorbuddy and choose a valid WoW instance to use Honorbuddy.

hb is only supported on live servers.

it *may* work on private servers if you go to the archive ... or simply use that "search" function w/ the other ppl who use private servers
