(Issue) Selling gold to private buyers

Sold 6k to some guy via paypal for 18$. Two days later he disputes the transaction. I figured he would probably try that. Anyone have any info on a better transaction method so these guys can't try and scam you? I've heard moneybookers was better. Can I get some insight on what transaction method you guys prefer for private gold buyers?
 
I haven't used MB yet just paypal. Usually send an invoice to the client haven't had any issues, but then I have a business paypal account.

Good point, I have a business account as well, but I did not send an invoice. Next time I believe I'll try that.
 
in paypal get them to send it as a gift, and have them write in it "I have received all of my virtual goods and i am 100% happy with our trade" <<something like that

make them send the money as a gift with the message stating they have already recieved the virtual good. by doing this, paypal cannot take any further action.
 
Yep. Gift is the way to go. Altho a lot of people will not pay as Gift (I wont) in case you scam them they cannot do anything about it.

In case we scam them? Or incase they scam us? I'm confused xD
 
I normally sell to chineese gold companies, though, I get about half as much as you got from that guy (3$/k), the rate is jumping up and down and the highest I've managed to sell for is 1,9$k.
But I'm happy, it's better than nothing and I know they wont scam me :)
 
Haha, it could work either way. I never pay with Gift tho because once you pay as a gift, your money is theirs. Papypal will not do anything as you sent is as a GIFT.

Some people will pay that way tho. If you are selling gold, always try to get them to pay as GIFT. I wouldnt scam them, but this way they cant try and dispute to get money back.

I do the same as you. I was lucky enough to get $2.1/k for 3 days last week :). Its all about supply with the asians if they run dry they will pay.

But its about -your- money. If they wont pay as a gift, they aren't going to be your customer and you're better off selling your gold wholesale. Yes, you'll get less, but you'll get something, and you'll have plenty of buyers.
 
I create an invoice clearly stating that this trade is about virtual goods and that by paying the customer accepts that this trade is not protected by paypal. (Because paypals protection is not there for virtual goods they say)
Never have had any problems.
 
Paypal will dispute virtual goods. Last year I sold an Ultima Online account and the person filed a dispute. He almost got his money back but lucky I had some good logs to show that I had xfered him the account.
 
Since this is digital goods, the policy with Paypal is that they will not refund digital goods. I found this out when I was trying out another bot that required a subscription. Each month you were automatically billed and then you had to PM the guy to get the 30 day code for the bot. Many weeks and PM's went by and then I filed a dispute. At that time, I received a message back from him just telling me that I filed a dispute. Nothing else after and then Paypal denied the 2 payments I made and received nothing because of their digital goods policy.
