Is WoW any fun?

I have a few IRL friends that play it, but I've never really tried it out.

Here's a rough overview of what games I like/don't like to compare if you've played.

Games I like..
Counterstrike
Diablo III (Besides dieing endlessly in inferno endlessly)
Games where you farm to upgrade your gear
Maplestory(used to be decent)

Games I don't like..
Fallout
Any COD
Massive RPGs with stupidly big landscapes where your character moves too slow.

Since DB is down, mine as well look for a new hobby, right?

Play the free trial, you'll probably like it or at least get a good feel for it. Your friends can "recruit" you and you will both gain more exp when leveling together as well as other benefits.

I didn't know they had one, I'll try it out.

Try the starter edition which lets you level to 20 for free, but if you decide to play with your friends get them to send a RAF invite so you get better bonuses.
