Is using a VPN that important?

What is the importance of using a VPN? I have not really heard of blizzard IP banning players. I am not trying to argue, I am just asking a question. Thank you.

Not important. Multibox Bot 4-5 Accounts for years at this point. Only 1 ban in the last two years. Missed 3/4 of the last mass bans.
