World of Warcraft: Anti-cheating Agreement

To continue, please read and accept the Anti-cheating Agreement

In an attempt to provide all users an equal opportunity to play World of Warcraft game in a ‘cheat free’ environment, please be aware that World of Warcraft monitors the computer that you use to access World of Warcraft for unauthorized third party programs running concurrently with World of Warcraft by performing limited scans of your computer.

By clicking on ‘accept’ below, you acknowledge and accept that Blizzard has the right to perform the scans. If you do not agree to allow Blizzard to perform the scans, you will not be able to register an account to play World of Warcraft. More information

No, nothing new. They implemented that long time ago.

You can find this kinda this agreement in any online game I guess...nothing new, just same shit different asshole...lol

You can still sue them....in "theory". They are not allowed to ask you to agree on invading your privacy (thus your computer) even if it is to protect their game against cheats. Though you wouldn't get your account back after a ban even if you do sue them :) But probably enough money to buy a few accounts. Though it can take up to a year or longer for such a case to be handled. Lol

not to mention the 10k in lawyers fees.

but most people arent aware how this actually works. permission is permission. you give an officer permission to search your trunk, or look in your shed, this gives them the opportunity to find probably cause without a warrant.

if the officer searches the shed and finds nothing and then moves on to the woodpile. anything found in the woodpile is considered non admissible into evidence in the event of a trial. but it can be used to further an investigation. no one has to reveal any evidence found in the search unless they plan on using it for evidence in a trial, or in our example a ban investigation. no one knows what blizzard does and blizz doesnt have to reveal anything was found during the investigation if they discover hb running on your comp concurrently [at the same time]. the finding of the hb is what they reveal during the ban.

if this very same method is used by cops, lawyers, judges, and so on, who is going to stop blizz, or even fault them. we are rabbits who have wandered under the garden fence. eating scraps to stay alive. they want to drive us out by any means necessary. even if it means stooping to tactics used by law enforcement.

i would love to see the source that limits the asking of permission to monitor their game.

You are confusing multiple laws... invading someone's COMPUTER is NEVER allowed unless the police requires it for an active investigation. Blizzard is NOT the law. The fact that you agree to it doesn't mean it's 100% legit.

If you're 16 year old girl and you meet a 20 year old guy he wants to have sex and you say ÿes but afterwards you can report him to the police because ITS NOT ALLOWED LOL
