Is there a point buying an unmerged SoR US account?

I was interested in purchasing one for another bot but it seems like all the accounts (at least the US ones) are being banned almost immediately.

Can anyone with knowledge of it please shed some light on it?

I have bought over 20 SoR accounts over the last couple of months, sold most of them. Never had one banned. It all comes down to safe botting practices, and not being greedy.

Yeah def go for it while they are still around, I've grabbed up 9 of them. None have been banned, and been botting on all of them, also getting RaF gametime on all of them (which is another flag for blizz)

I sell tons of them a day. I've never had a problem with any of them getting banned. I still sell them, and the Recruit a Friend gametime. You can PM me if you'd like more information, or add me on skype.

Not to be the debby-downer but I bought three a couple weeks ago (first time doing so) and they were banned the following day. Only botted them for a couple hours. I appealed and blizzard requested my battle.net information with a valid ID. I submitted everything and was told that my information matched my battle.net account however didn't match the SoR account that was merged and there was nothing they could do about it. Needless to say, I lost 35 dollars or so and wont be doing it again. Could of just been bad luck but the risk is yours to take..

You just had a bad luck, i bought 6 sor accounts be4 5months ago, only one get ban coz I sold gold with it, and botted all the way through the didn't even find any botting script even so got back now.

Thanks for the responses. I'd only use gold to buy it rather than real money. I may buy one to test my luck.

I've bought and still have about 10 or so SOR accounts. I was looking through old emails last night (well, kids email account) and found one of my Original unmerged accounts from 2009!

I used it as a SOR account, and got a 80 lock.. Hand played a couple hours, next day it was banned. No botting, no selling, MY Unmerged account from 2009 banned the next day. From what i've been reading at owned core, this is normal as of the last few weeks. I have a ticket opened with blizz, they have yet to respond..

I have bought many many SoR accounts over the months, even as recently as last week, and as I said none have ever been banned. I WOULD recommend though that if you buy an unmerged account, to merge it into a battle.net account with your personal information, so if ID is ever needed, you can provide this. I should also state that i NEVER have more than 2 bots/accounts running at any given time. Like I said, bot smart and you will be ahead of the game. However, luck does also have to do with it. As bobnelson said, he got banned within a couple days.

Yeah, As I said. I've never had one that I sold, or personally got be banned. I don't know who your dealer is, but you obviously made the wrong choice.

Hmm, I wonder if it's just a short term ban wave that I should wait for to be over? It seems like its 50/50 on whether you'll successfully maintain an account.

A seller told me it tracked by # of merges done from the same IP in a time period. I have no clue personally but I've done a few, still have them all. Cheap $10 bot accounts

They don't ask "Where did you get this account?" as I already appealed all of mine lol. They can, and will, compare it to the original owner information and if your battle.net account has different information (obviously can't submit ID for the merged account) they just tell you "Sorry, there is nothing we can do to help you." Once it's banned, it's banned. I found that when blizzard had their sale for all expansions and vanilla, $20 legitimately was much more efficient so I bought three sets of those and I am good to go for awhile. No problems in almost three weeks.
