Is there a better way to choose location?

Hello. I've just downloaded this, and I'm trying to set it to travel around an area that's supposed to be a Charmander next around here. However, I can't seem to find any way to choose location other then zooming in and out on the map, which would be virtually impossible to use to find what I'm looking for. Any help on this? @.@


EDIT: I realized I could search the location on google maps and zoom out to find where it was. But if there is a better method, I would still like to know ^^
