Is now a good time to bot?

Hey! I was just wondering if right now is a good time to bot... I botted before multiple times but in the latest patch, they said that they were going to change the file format system and it kind of scares me a little... I tend to try to bot on the "safe" side...

Here are my questions:

1) I was just wondering how the new file format system is going to affect demonbuddy? Is it safe for me to bot in the coming weeks?

2) I also heard there was a ban wave recently... Were the people that got banned mostly people that bot like 20 hours a day? Non-stop?

3) Are there really less chances of getting banned if you tend to be more "human"? By that, I mean bot maximum 12 hours a day with breaks.

4) Is there such a thing as a rough percentage of the number of people that get banned when botting?

5) Mostly, how do you get detected? Is it detected by a program seeing you doing unusual behavior? Is it because of reports?

6) What are the best ways of avoiding to get banned(besides not botting)?

Thank you very much for the help.

1) file format? What fail formate? Anyway, never safe to bot....

2) Its random

3) No

4) Impossible to make a statistic

5) No one knows

6) You already know the only way to not get banned.

For the file format, I am talking about the new one they are implementing in the 2.2.0 patch that's coming up. Here's the quote for it:

"New File System: CASC

For many years, Blizzard games have used a file format called Mo'PaQ (MPQ for short) as a way to compress and store game files, but it has had a number of technical limitations. To address these, we're switching Diablo III over to our proprietary file format called CASC (Content Addressable Storage Container) in patch 2.2.0."

You are scared of botting which means you are scared of being caught which means you value your account which means you should not bot.

That would be incorrect. What about the fact that it feels like Christmas every day when I come back home to open up lots and lots of presents? That alone is worth risking being caught and banned.

P.S. If I get banned from Diablo, are my other games banned(Starcraft, WoW,etc.)?

Thanks :)

Allways is good time to bot.
As long as you can assume a ban

Oh I can assume it... The point is to try to avoid them or else you'll have to pay for the game again, level up and get everything back. If it wasn't for the money, I wouldn't really care.

dont bot then....

If I loose all my accounts I just buy a high paragon profile, plenty of them for sale..

... The fun is to do something you're not allowed to and hope to not get caught.

How much is a 600+ USA account worth these days? Can't imagine they are worth much anymore, especially if it's already been botted.

1) I was just wondering how the new file format system is going to affect demonbuddy? Is it safe for me to bot in the coming weeks?

it is always unsafe. accounts get flagged between waves. during the wave they just get blocked.

2) I also heard there was a ban wave recently... Were the people that got banned mostly people that bot like 20 hours a day? Non-stop?

people who did not bot for months also get banned. those who bot for 8 hours on a new account also get banned.

3) Are there really less chances of getting banned if you tend to be more "human"? By that, I mean bot maximum 12 hours a day with breaks.

nope

4) Is there such a thing as a rough percentage of the number of people that get banned when botting?

you cant calculate this. but chance to be banned increases the longer you use bot ;D

5) Mostly, how do you get detected? Is it detected by a program seeing you doing unusual behavior? Is it because of reports?

both ways. also you can get banned even you were not botting. by mistake, hehe

6) What are the best ways of avoiding to get banned(besides not botting)?

well, if you have friends/relatives working for blizzard they might help you to get unbanned. probably.

I botted really intermittently in season 1, probably a total of 200 hours through the whole season. I did not get banned in the ban wave but I was pretty surprised to find out that I still had my account.

The new file system probably won't have any effect on bans.

I've been using demonbuddy and other buddys for as long as they have been out and have never been banned on any game. IMO the reason is because I don't do stupid crap like bot 24/7 or run the same profile every day.

Even with friends and relatives at Blizzard there's no way they can keep you from getting banned, they would get caught.

Well I got myself about 400 paragon levels in season 1. I was running the bot every night(different profiles here and there). I had pauses too and I never got banned. I am not going to bot on my current account because that is the one I use to play with my friends. If I'm to bot, I'll buy another account when diablo goes on sale. I don't think it's as safe as it was before(from my peasant point of view).

Thanks for all the answers.
