Is my video card failing?

Since today I haven't been able to play D3. Everytime I load D3 the login screen glitches out with random pixels. Been also noticing what looks like dead pixels on my wallpaper here and there (randomly comes and goes). I just reformatted and installed newest video drivers as well, still unable to play. It's a hand me down Evga GTS450 from my brother's old computer. So is this a sign of video card failure? I think it is, just want to make sure.

My D3 login always looks different, all effed up lol.

Looks like a toasted Video Card to me. You should check temperatures and try and find if this occures when he is heated up.

as said above, its roasted like chicken in a roaster :S
get a new one, and check your cooling..

Looks like its time to replace that bad boy. If you've got the cash the best bang for your buck right now is a the Geforce GTX 670.. You could try to find a 680 but you'll pay about $100-$150 more, and they are hard to find right now. Of course, if you just want something to get you by you could always get an older 500 series geforce, or if you're more into ATI than nvidia, the 6000 series is comparable.

I know my computer sorta gets overwhelmed when playing D3, it gets REALLY loud, more loud when it's hot. Computer is 8-9 years old, on for 24/7 for many years now. But only had the GTS 450 in for a month.

AMD 4200x2 (939)
2 GB Memory

I plan on building a new rig with ivy bridge, just waiting for this old pos to die on me, but it won't!

Think I'll just put my 9600GT back in for now. :(

1. Check cooling, use MSI Afterburner software and put the GPU Speed to 100% and see if that makes a difference
2. Check the hardware to see if its dusty etc or something is on it like food :p
3. Install different software drivers (at least 3) because the latest may have issues, make sure they're stable versions
4. If after 1,2,3 your graphics card is still not working, then definitely get a new graphics card.

My current setup will bottleneck those cards lol.
