Is it worth appealing bans at all?

I have access to what little gold my dungeon groups who got banned barely two hours ago have gathered via the surviving priests, as they all have guild bank withdrawal access. Other than to ensure you salvage what you can in a situation where you don't, is it ever worth appealing a ban, even if you win it? I know some people have managed to get their accounts back, but.. What would be the best case scenario?

They were absolutely automated - all "licence banned" e-mails were sent at exactly 04:18 my time, and before that, all the password reset e-mails were sent at exactly 04:01, which is around 2 a.m. UTC, a mere half hour after tripwire activated. Since my luck is crap, as always, I was sleeping and couldn't kill the WoW Processes themselves, so bam. 67 euro down the drain.
 
Update - all appeals were rejected, but one in particular was very worrying, as the GM that responded said my account has been suspended for "illegal activity". What the hell? First of all, botting is not illegal at all, and second, the way they word it seems to imply I either stole an account or a card or something, that's crazy. I bought all my accounts with the PayPal I used the two months before.
 
well you should know this by urself, if its ur main and you maybe just bot from time to time or just use cr you can appeal for sure. Appealing hardcore dungeon-farming accounts is well... just dumb
 
im a unicorn and have gotten one account un permabanned twice now and still farming(well not right now but you know what i mean)

I appealed a dung. farming account which had 3k+ loken kills aaaaaaaand I got it back! After 24 hour it was again dungeon farming and still does.... (2week passed since unlock running daily 17h at least)

So Yes worth appealing maybe looks good if you go in Naxx or ICC once a week just for fun on the farming accounts or do a few BGs camp some bots in front of the instance etc :))
 
I got once manually wiped out by an appeal and I never do it since then. Probably the GM had a bad day that day :)

This happens all the time. As soon as a GM finds the rest of your botting accounts they all get wiped. If you mass bot and dont lose all your accounts NEVER appeal.

banned today 1 day after tripwire go On. Perma banned and i activated 2 month prepaid yesterday. Really unlucky
 
I appealed and they replied with it was investigated and they confirmed their findings. I'll keep trying anyway. It's my only account used bot for just leveling.

Appealed twice; on second they gave the same answer worded differently and then said because it's been through two reps it's now closed.

Idk what country you are in, but this message is for the US botters. Botting technically violates the DCMA since you are accessing a copy of the game stored in the RAM, which means you are illegally using a copy of the game (blizzard states this copy is for their use only). This was one of the major reasons for thr downfall (and loss in court) for glider. There's no way around using a copy of the ram.

I think when blizz says 'illegal activity' they might mean illegal in the sense of the game, not actually 'illegal' in real life, if that makes sense. someone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong
 
6 month ban here. good bye world of warcraft, thank you honorbuddy for everything you've provided the past few years :)
