Is it safer to buy items for irl currency than it is to buy gold?

Looking at buying 1 or 2 ilvl 522 items. Any tips on going about this?

My tip would be "don't", but that is just personal opinion. There are several forums dedicated, specifically, to item trade/transfer.
I am unsure if this is the correct place for such a topic/discussion however as HB may not condone such threads.

Hmm, I figured honorbuddy would be okay with it as they allow discussions of selling gold. Although I will take both of your personal opinions and decide not to do so.

I havent bought gold since Burning Crusade, but I did buy some items last year after a hiatus when i wanted to get back into raiding. I joust bought some BOEs that were mailed to me by the service tho. I would not do the whole raiding set where they take your account for a week
