Is it possible to make the bot use fire trap before using flame surge?

Hello, i'm currently playing around with flame surge, was wondering if it was possible to make the bot use fire trap before using flame surge? Noticed that the bot some times tosses out a fire trap while running toward a mob pack before using main spell, but if he is already surrounded by mobs, he wont recast fire trap. is there a good way to "fix this"?

set fire trap as your ranged skill, both AOE and single target, and set your flame surge as your melee single and AOE. GUI Settings -> ExampleRoutine
That way at range your traps are thrown and when something is in close you flame surge.
