I was wondering if its illegal to share someone profile without their permission? Can you be prosecuted for this?
What if you their profile with smalls details and post it out? can this be illegal and prosecuted?
No its not unless its a paid profile with a terms and/or conditions applied too it..
But usually heavily frowned upon
Hi,
Cowboyx,
Nervs39 summarizes it well.
The details:
Anything posted on the BosslandGmbH forums...
is subject to the publication rules required by the forum:
If a Community member publishes anything in the BosslandGmbH forums, they are tacitly submitting their offering under these rules. These rules apply to
anything published on the BosslandGmbH forums--be it profile, combat routine, plugin, bot, opinion, data, findings, etc.
So theoretically, if you obtained the offering from the BosslandGmbH forum, you can do with it as you will. But there are ethical consideration above that. Just because you have the 'right' to do something, doesn't mean its the right thing to do. Thus,
Nervs39's "frowned upon" statement.
If you violate what the Community considers proper ethics, you may get flamed, chided, bullied, or whatever--even if the activity was technically within your rights and 'legal'.
If the offering was obtained through a third-party site...
then other conditions may apply. The BosslandGmbH forums have
absolutely no jurisdiction in how others choose to make offerings available from a third-party site, and the terms under which they are made available. If the offering required remuneration, then the further redistribution by you would be considered theft--both in the moral and legal sense.
BosslandGmbH will not be a party to theft, nor allow its forums to be used for such. If you get caught attempting to distribute a third-party offering in these forums, you will be perma-banned in a heartbeat.
Hope this clears things up.
cheers,
chinajade
