Is Honorbuddy a passive bot or can Warden detect it?

There was a period where HB was detected and people got banned in droves. I see a lot of people posting and selling routines, so I assume it's "relatively" safe if done carefully. How? Can Warden detect the bot? How does it access the game?

Blizz used to rely on client side methods of banning people, now since they do it server sided sooner or later people will get caught as u could see in the past and will see in the future. HB Tripwire is as safe as it gets for you as a customer.
The new Product Legionbuddy will perhaps change the cat & mouse Game though, u can see for yourself once it gets launched.

Another bot I currently use is passive, but the dev has taken a LONG time to update it because apparently Blizz changed how Warden works in the latest patch. It seems now Warden can scan for almost anything you are doing (which is illegal in the EU).

Are you saying HB is detectable? Are people banned for not being careful and getting reported or can Blizz detect HB, through whatever Tripwire is? Someone told me that LB is going to be more passive, but since this company have made Blizzard their greatest enemy, I am unsure how long it can stay undetected.

Either way, I'll be making a throw away account to mess with HB and LB.

Thanks!

blizz doesend need to use methods the gm in game what you dont see just put you in a place where you get stuck if youre not there and keep running at a wall they know youre a bot the unstuck code needs to be better.

Too much private server flair.

...that's it? That can't be the only way they detect. I've been botting since Vanilla and almost always set up alarms or whatever to alert me when other players are near or I get stuck. Botting afk is begging for a ban.

How else can they detect HB, does anyone know?

If we knew exactly we would not get banned ever.
There were multiple actual detections. But in general it seems to be watching behavior and red flags getting thrown up and then investigated. And of course player reports.
Fellow botters were notorious for reporting other botters during rogue pick pocket days in mop to get the spot all to them selves.

Report from a fellow botter got my accounts banned for at least 3 times. As soon as you suspect a fellow botter is in your vicinity, GTFO and avoid a report.
Botting is fun for most of us, but it means business for a few. So, ruining someone's business will certainly get you banned.

Sorry folks, her is a lot of missinformation.

Bossland himself has stated that HB is detected. No question. They have also stopt atleast one banwave with tripwire. There is no evidence for server side detection.
LB will be a passive bot, but as some of you said, Bossland is per now enemy nr. one (I beleve)
I also have a feeling that if Blizz is chasing LB AS whell. If not I would think LB had been releast by now, but that is just my opinion.

Cheers

To be honest a 100% passive bot will be just bad. How will it know something needs to be interrupted? Unless there's a memory reading function in the bot.

Honorbuddy is not passive, and can and will be detected again eventually

Big difference between reading and injecting :-)

Doesnt matter that there is a difference, a passive bot is NOT secure from detection, and anyone that thinks such, is misinformed

Totaly agree with you there. Nothing that interact with the game is undetectable. My opinion is that it's "harder" to detect a bot that do not inject. But I will not dissagree if you proov me wrong. :-)

When I got banned, I complained that I did not uded BOT, that I had it only installed on my system, etc...

They said: Due the security reasons we can not tell you why we banned you and how we detected you... I pushed them hard and eventualy they said that they are looking LOGS and that is the way they found that I am botting...

If I only use HonorBuddy for spells and If I move, interact and do other things manually -> can they still detect me?

Thank you!

A detection is a detection. You'll get caught no matter what you do.

I still don't quite understand why you guys push blizz so hard for additional information after a ban:

First off, a GM most likely doesn't know how the security team detected the bots. They purposely don't tell them so that information won't be leaked to the public. Sure a normal GM may do some investigation, but a huge banwave isn't going to be investigated by normal GM's. Blizz said recently in their PVP podcast that they have an entire team dedicated to strictly catching cheaters.

Second off, they can ban you at any time for any reason they see fit. The reason they could give you doesn't matter. They could say they banned you because they don't like you and you'd still have absolutely no recourse. You own absolutely nothing inside the game and they can take everything you've ever worked for at any time.

Any ideas that you have that Blizz owes you an explanation about anything, you should just forget about...They don't owe you anything, you know you were in violation of their policies, and what a GM tells you doesn't mean anything in the long run.

Doomsday is coming, HB is not prepared! :P

Nah, back in the day bosslands penis must have got in the way of his feet because HB was top dawg and besides the LUA slip up they pretty much where undetectable.

Now there is real life money to be had for blizzard with the token system and ever since Bans have been coming in waves, every 4-6 months.

So come end of OCT you better take a break until you see the wave then go back to Surfing.
