Is grinding really a trigger for a ban?

I know its all speculation but would like to know your input from personal experience of botting.

Is grinding really a trigger too get banned? Obviously inhuman amounts of farming 24+ hours is a time trigger. But the grinding its self I just can't imagine that's an auto ban trigger.

What's your thoughts?
 
Just don't do it in the same area for in-humanly amounts of time. Use a profile switching plugin or HBRelog etc so switch areas frequently. I wouldn't grind for more then 4-6 hours, but that's just me.
 
It's all about luck. I've been grinding same spots for +12h without getting banned. Personally I think that BGBuddy is the riskiest because BGs are overpopulated by bots and people notice them easily. But as i said it's all about luck.

No single action is a trigger for a ban.
Blizzard states time and again that the main source for bans is reports. Reports will trigger investigations. Investigations may trigger bans.

Grinding will lead to inhuman numbers on kills in a certain area and time played.
Grinding in heavily populated areas will lead to many reports.
Hence; Grinding for a long time has a high risk of getting banned but it's not the grinding itself that does that.

I've ground my Hunter from 85 to 90 by grinding mobs that could be skinned in periods of 8 hours at a time, maximum.
 
not really, i grinded 3 of my 85's to 90 yet by 24/7 grinding but sometimes changed spot etc but it's not really a trigger for ban, but it all depends on luck if ur going to bot for a big amount of time
 
Grinding and not replying whispers = user reports = ban!
 
I don't think so aye, I grinding 87-90 on a full populated server, and haven't received any word of suspension or ban yet :P

I doubt he wonders about people leveling for 3 hours! more like 90s botting for 12+ hrs
 
grind more than 10 hour have high chance to get banned

Been grinding for 58 hours straight now. Level 1-71. Planning on grinding all the way to 90, no ban yet.
 
I personally believe it's a high risk form of botting on US accounts - while I personally can grind for weeks with the same profile in EU.

why would a person just sit in the same area and kill the same mobs for 5 hours + straight?
Don't you think a person would slightly move to an area or port to town for upgrades ect?

Grinding is risky to use, unless you are a skinner, or a tailor.

and like everyone else is saying.

if you bot for only 2 hours a day, doing the same thing for a month + .... then yea thats also a risk too.
 
Its reports not kills that get you investigated.

And ofc, 24/7 grinding in one place is possibly suspicious in and of itself, and will also generate a lot of reports.
 
IMO, there is nothing wrong with grind. Blizzard is even forcing hand players to grind. You grind for shards, motes, cloth, mounts, and 500 other things in the game. Personally I would like to thank Blizz for making it even safer to grind. Grinding for ungodly amounts of time just like doing any other action in wow will result in a ban.
