Is gatherbuddy so secure? or GMs are just really lazy?

a week ago a friend of mine wanted to quit wow for ever and never come back
so we figured a way to ban his account making something productive out of it :)

he started to bot with gatherbuddy 24/7 with a rather small profile in uldum and with "ninja nodes on"
and i just kept reporting him ticket after ticket

after a week i was in awe when he told me that
he had already 3 players whisping him ever day with report threats and so on
like and 5-6 messages/day raging against him from random players
plus me keeping a ticket up all the time

what's wrong with it? GMs don't ban anymore?

he has a 99% uptime (almost never DCs and such)
 
A GM will deal with it eventually but it is more likely the automated system will get him first.

it'll be interesting to know if and when your friend gets banned so please post back.

oh i forgot to add:
he posts most of the farmed mats on the AH from another (classic only) account to keep the uptime at max
so far the only problem that we met is the prices going down by 40% <.<
 
I keep gettting amazed at the waste that is getting an account banned on purpose...

Couldnt you donate to someone here to be a testing account?

I honestly think this experiment is better for the community. Maybe we can learn something about the banning process, and how long it actually takes from the time someone is reported to the time they are suspended/banned.

Your point is very valid. But cant that be done with a $5 vanilla account anyways ? :(

Good point. Anyone here can test this by using HB to grind to 60, and then run a profile nonstop on GB, all the while reporting the bot. I just don't see why you'd do that with an account that's been upgraded past Cata. Tell your friend you'll pay his sub, and have it run 24/7 farming mats for you, fill your gb, craft some of that into stuff to sell, and make shit tons of money. That way, you don't really care if it gets banned, and you don't crash the economy on your server like assholes. THAT is what is going to get you banned, IMHO. Not the botting.
 
update: banned!
it took more or less two weeks on a low pop server

he got banned 24 hours after my last ticket were answered
and 24 hours before the next one would be.. making it 48 HOURS to answer a fucking ticket


i'll hear from him tomorrow so i'll tell you more

he didn't want anyone to use his account not me nor a complete stranger
getting the account banned is what he wanted since you can't really delete it and he doesn't want to come back again
about the economic crash.. well we didn't really think about that xD
 
You're amazed that your friend was able to far 24/7 and receive numerous player reports and last two days without being banned? No new information here. What a waste of an account,
