Ip question

So id like to know by someone much smarter than I am about this stuff what they think.


The main account I use and play only manually Is on my own desktop in my bedroom. I have another desktop in my bedroom that is a pc that is a couple years older (still decent) that I usually run my "bots" with. Whether d2, d3, poe, w/e.

I no longer bot d3 anymore... no trading wtf is the point? I don't bot/play d2 anymore really and if so I just put the bots on my main pc.

So for POE the botting pc will be my secondary desktop pc in my bedroom. They both share the same internet connection, no vpns or anything.

The next bot I put up (since the first and only bot I have put up was banned in a little over 2 days) I was thinking of manually playing up till merciless a3 dominus. Get it geared, do masters, create hideout etc etc.


Would there be any issue if I played manually on my GOOD pc and then transferred to old pc when im done? Id rather not have to sit in the cramped corner on the crappier pc to level/quest for a few days if I don't have to.

Since both pc's are on the same internet (same external IP right?) it shouldn't matter right? Or am I wrong?



Just in case people are confused by my wording (im pretty tired)

Should be fine as you are not connecting 'from a new location'

If you are truly paranoid you could copy the PoE folder from your main computer to your bot' computer.

Out of curiosity what would this do? That wouldn't have anything to do with the IP would it?

I already have path of exile downloaded on the other computer. Copying the folder would just save like the settings and stuff right?

well.. clearly you are not paranoid. Good for you.
Why copy? I am unsure if GGG tag each PoE installation with a GUID.

Well i try not to wear my tinfoil hat to much i figure no company can really ban for multiple instances on same ip ne way. People have familys, siblings, kids, dorms at school, friends all living together etc etc. All of whom can be playing the same game in which this would happen. Plus theres nothing in rules or terms of use prohibiting one person from having multiple clients. Was just checking to make sure!

g00fy, there is a thoery about the logs tho, if you look in PoE folder

Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile\logs

there is a .txt file with EVERYTHING put into that file, so what i did do, when i had 12 bots running before mass bans. I would put that file to read-only, so PoE couldnt write to file no trace for them. Just alittle add on

Think of it like this:
If you bot on IP X, any other accounts you use on that IP are at risk.
If you bot on PC Y (without changing MAC addr), any other accounts you use on that PC are at risk.
If you trade with botted account Z, any other accounts you trade with are at risk.

I say "at risk", because if one of the accounts is ever under suspicion, any associated accounts most likely will be checked. If your server sided data looks "bot like" to them, you'll get banned. For the last one, obviously some things come into play when you trade with people on the server, but anything local or "muling" will stand out to them.

Thanks pushedx, found most of that out myself the hard way lol.

The "other" computer I botted on has the same external ip as my main, so im lucky my main is still going fine when my other one got banned. My ip must have been flagged too because when I tried another bot a couple days later it got banned in 4-5 hours.

That's why im currently trying to figure out a good vpn and such to use.
