Hey DB team,

I am curious if you guys have seen the multiple posts about the bots attacking invisible targets? At first i was thinking okay the mobs are just glitching and a little graphic error or whatever, but after watching the bot run for a little more than an hour, i noticed it attacking invisible mobs multiple times. I don't have any video recordings of it yet, but i will when i get home. I was just wondering if the DB team has been looking into this or not?

Thanks

Nah, they are absorbed with improving lootscoring atm, like this wasnt solved alrdy with mandatory plugins, thing is that with that rate of banning there wont be any loot to score soon.

I think this invisible target is a new method from blizzard to detect botter.

Not only are monsters, there are items and objects that are not visible, some loose enough gold, the easiest place to check this is in the ancient crypt. Let the Bot running for 1 hour and the note. Probably there is a trigger that links the account that attacks monsters, gather hidden items, etc. to a list or something.

Yesterday I had 30 accounts banned, and today I decided to use another 3 to verify what may have occurred. Used varied profiles, which shows that it is not the profile. Was updating all of the DBs plugins. I used the firewall to block the output data, the host and everything. So today formatted the pc, mudeis the ips and everything else and put another 3 accounts for slaughter, to see why the ban. What is noticeable is that there are monsters, items and objects invisible. The items to be ignored, but the objects and not monsters. Do not know if it's exactly the case, but it is possible.

You went all out. I haven't been banned yet lol. I'm running 10 barbarians using Tinnkaizer 24/7.

I don't understand how it can be dismissed so casually with a nope like that. I mean you guys state over and over again, you have no idea what detection methods blizzard uses, and that the bot is as "safe as possible" indicated reasonable doubt and uncertainty. After the last banwave, a few things were added like opening inventory to ID etc, as just random guesses to duplicate more human like behavior; however, community feedback on these sort of topics are just dismissed without regard most the time. I understand you can't possibly deal with all the tinfoil spouted around here, and likely there is no relevance to the invisible monster thing, or guess x, or guess y, etc - but to just say nope like you have inside information from blizz about their detection or something, idk. Is it not even plausible?

blista, do you use vm/*** at all? and which trinity are you using?

Frankly this theory doesnt seem plausible to me, with such invisible objects they could spot bot within 24 hours due to large number of invisible mobs kills in comparisom to legit players, and theres still many ppl running multiple bots for many weeks right now.

I read a theory such as this, but the invisible objects may be "rare" and only spawn say 1/100 games, leading it to become very hard to identify it. If that was the case, it might take several days to come across it, and might take a few times of killing whatever it is, to actually flag you?
-Edit- I really hate the bot is preparing to attack worms in Craters before they've even shown as well.

If they make it that rare it would be plain stupid on their part because botting community would realize what is going on shortly anyway due to sheer number of account involved, and they would vastly reduce they detection effectiveness for nothing. Besides this wouldnt explain how it is possible that some ppl are botting for 2 weeks after last ban wave (and i know personally 1 such person), while others got banned after one day. Unless its so random that u may run on more of those traps in single day than several weeks running around the clock, , but it would be pointless on blizzard part to include such mechanism. Seems to me that they rather returned to banning by hand, only now they are more efficient because they know better what for to look.

Have any of you noticed your bot getting stuck in really obscure places, as though it was targeting something that normal players cannot see? For example Skycrowns where there's a gate below some stairs. I do notice my bot occasionally attempting to target items/monsters/something that cannot be seen. Or it could be a nav server issue. But either way, we should prevent the bot from targeting any "invisible" mob for more than say, 8 seconds or so. For the sake of tinfoil hats
