Info for returning Botter

Hey Community,

I started botting in 2012, but I stopped playing since MOP.
But I'm playing WoW for like a month again and I want to start botting again.
I tried to search for a similar topic, but searching for "starting legion" didn't bring up any results.

I'm botting on my main account only for few hours a day when I'm at my PC so the bot is mostly supervised.

So I'll ask you fellow botters:
  • What are the main things you should keep in mind nowadays to protect your account from getting banned?
  • Which of the bots are "safe" (I know no bot is safe; I mean safer than others) to use?
  • Is there any significant change in the behavior I should do with the bot

All things in moderation.

1) Bots that don't move, and only do combat.
2) Bots that don't operate around suspecting eyes. BGBuddy is a great way to get reported because many human players see you.
3) Bots that don't irritate other players. Flooding the AH, ninja skinning, etc.

What do you mean?

Most things are broken right now, e.g. DungeonBuddy, LazyRaider, Garissonbuddy, etc. There are no bots to handle RAF or Garrison presently. The Buddy Store is almost empty compared to what it was in 2 months ago, and lots of stuff on there isn't working at all. Hardly anything works right now since 1) the new expansion, 2) the new release of HB3. Honestly, this is about the worst time to get back into botting. In a few months maybe....
 
Thanks a lot for the information.

I'll just wanted to start with small things like fishing in the same place while I'll watch a movie on the other screen.
And wait with the bigger things for them to work :)

I just got back into botting as well. Any Idea when dungeon buddy will be up?

What do you mean?

Dungeonbuddy works fine up until Legion.
Depends on if you wanna bot for profit or just for having to play less terrible shit by hand.

Dude... this place(honor buddy) is so different.. I created a custom bot/plugin that quested, raided, and pvped (switched through bots depending on setting or randomly) and then bought items with honor points etc. i never released it. So I am about to develop another one. Jesus Christ getting my bearings for the new feel is daunting.

Any tips on where to start looking and getting my knowledge back?

If you did all that... I feel like you would have more knowledge of what you need to do than 99% of the people reading your question.
 
It was more for peace of mind and to see what's new here. also it was for returning botters like myself to get situated and back in the flow. Thank you for the non-answer. follow my posts I should be keeping everyone up to date with progress.

Sorry if it came off that way? I'm just saying that someone of your prowess is not going to get any useful answers here, as opposed to the community dev subforum or the HB discord.
 
You are correct. Somehow in my head I thought this was in the community dev... wow haha... I understand. Already on it. Keep an eye out for me over there! I will have something soon.
