Hello;

I am leveling a Priest and I would like to increase the range that the bot casts to 30 yards. Currently, if I right click the target, my character will run up to the 30 yard mark but will not cast Smite. I have to manually run up to melee range to attack the target. and then it will cast Smite.

Where can I set this value?

I should explain that I am using LazyRaider / Tyrael as the bot base.

I just realized this has been posted in the wrong sub-directory. Would a mod be so kind and move it to the correct Forum. Thank you

Hi, Gazzooks,

We moved your post to the Honorbuddy general forum, where it belongs.

To answer your question...
LazyRaider and Tyreal are raiding bots. They do not do movement—that is up to you. Raiding requires you to dance, like "get out of the green/blue/red stuff", "go stand here until X happens", etc. Because of these dances (unique to each boss or trash pull), the bots do not do movement because they don't know the particular movement requirements for each engagement.

Raiding bots only work when you are in combat. Once in combat, the bots take over to finish off the mob with your class 'rotation'. However, raid bots do not do toon movement while in or out of combat.

What is happening (from your description):
  • You are moving your character within Smite distance of the mob
  • Nothing happens because you are not in combat
  • You move within melee range of the mob
  • This causes you to enter combat, because you have body-pulled the mob
  • The raiding bot now takes over.
What you need to do is move your toon to an appropriate distance, then cast the first Smite manually. This will place you in combat and the raid bot will take over.

If you want a bot that does a little more work for you (e.g., combat movement, target switching, etc), look at Combat bot. But even with Combat bot, you will need to cast the first spell to place you in combat (if you are a ranged toon).

cheers,
