Idea about the forums

I was thinking today about how easily Blizzard can mosey over here and look at all the questing/gathering profiles and know exactly which ones to look out for.
Then I started to wonder why these forums are not private and do not require a membership to view.

I know Blizzard could just as easily afford to buy a membership and still have access to the forums, but there's always a chance they wouldn't.

I'm sure you guys have your reasons why you do not make the forums private, it was just more of a curiosity post than a suggestion.

Making private would lose business I would imagine. People read about the success, array of profiles, etc. makes them purchase the service. Blizz is gonna ban/find out either way.

Certain forums could remain public such as the success story/testimonials section. Other's though, like that contain botting profiles, should be private in my opinion.
