Hey guys i have a computer rig with nice specs that can run 15 bots at once with no problem. With the mandatory shifts that the bots need to do if i want to use the computer 24/7 i need to run give or take 30 bots on the rig. (This is a rough math based on 12 hours shifts i don't do more than 8-9 per bot a day.)
Now i don't have experience in mass botting( i have botted 3-4 years on smaller scale 2-3 accounts) so i blindly just started to expand. When i had around 20 bots most of them leveling and gearing i got a ban( by GM) on my whole farm.
After i started looking around various forums i understood that basically i was making a huge mistake by trying to expand. What i found out is that basically if an IP adress(same router) had more than a X amount of wow's running on(does not matter if running or not just logged from) it is a flag and a GM will investigate because it probably a bot farm(which is true in most of the cases). However obviously university dorms or internet cafes have a ton of people playing wow and they are not getting banned( probably some of them even bot).
Obviously they are not banning people for just having a lot of accounts on the same router. There need to be more factors. Some of the things i can think of is same registered name, same payment method(if you use paypal or credit card) and same system info(your computer). Obviously putting a fake name and just buying keys instead of paying to blizzard directly works. The two factors that are left to connect the accounts in my opinion is the same IP and the computer system. And they don't ban just by IP.
So in my quest for a way to not get banned i deducted that in order to mass bot i will need a find a way how to look like some of the bots are run a separate machine. Imagine a internet cafe or dorm many computers and 1 router. The thing is how to make one computer look like two?
So far i read a bit on Virtual Machine. As far as i know it will give me a different IP (something like this xxxxx.100 and VM will have xxxxx.200) but still same router. I think this is a step in the right direction to look like a second computer on a same network . However how different does it really look? I don't know of the VM will get a different Hardware ID or is there another dead give away.
That why i made this topic to ask people with more experience how do they mass bot and don't get a ton of personal ban waves.

P.S. I know a lot of people bot just 1-2 accounts. Their opinions are welcomed as always just keep in mind that when you mass bot there is a lot more danger. So don't be scared if some mass boter says i get banned ever week. If your doing 1-2 accounts and boting smart your safe.
