i cant be the only one.webp

Why why?

Why not make a metter mech so the bot can walk?

Edit: for those with a little bit less brain, this is a MESH problem and has nothing to do with profiles and or hotspots.

What I'd really like to see is a system that lets us specify a preferred path, like with a start, end, and middle points. These paths could be either done in profiles or higher up the Honorbuddy stack.

These paths should have an argument to push the preference with which the bot take this path instead of any other hotspot around. Like if the bot wants to walk to Hubert's position, it checks if a paths endpoint is within a small radius around. If so, it prefers to take the path, instead of calculating the hotpots to there by itself. Kind of blackspotting the area around it without actually blackspotting anything.
This, of course, should not be the preferred way to do navigation, but it would enable profile writers to overwrite stupid pathing places like the onces in the OP.

Yes, I know that the current Hotspot bases system is pretty strong and comprehensive and kinda human like. However, we are less likely to encounter wandering monsters if we follow a road, you know...

No, you're definitely not the only one seeing that painting.

I am really proud off the painting.

An i have seen the bot walk around a building when it was almost at the entery and for some reson it picked a path around the entire building, well not only the building a wall as well and some small houses.

Because it's not human and only does what the profile tells it to do.

No it does not, it walks the way the MESH paths it to walk, if the mech was made better the walking would improve.

That is actually a issue in Kicks questing profile at Thrallmar. It runs around the WHOLE place on its way for the flight path. It works, but i take some time and looks funny

Have you checked the profile? Are you sure it's not following hotspots?

Every profile has hotspots, but between them the mesh takes over, just read up about the mech what it is what it does.

If you put a hotspot at one place then a hotspot at another, then the mech will calculate the best path between them, and it is here HB often fails hits wall stuff gets stuck walking up a mountain as it turns to close and so on and so on, this has been reported many times and fixed has been announced but i never se any real improvements.

LOL - I love how you rudely edit it for people with "a little bit less brain" (which in itself doesn't make an awful lot of sense) when the whole of your post is full of mistakes and basic grammatical errors.

Just ................... Wow.

Where? people think HB use hotspots to walk around? when the mesh is replacing hotspots, you only add a start and an end your self, whats wrong here is what you and others know.

i draw better with butt hairs with the toilet seat as my paper. lol

edit: why WHY isn't english taught in school anymore?

from my understanding certain parts of the mesh are "ranked, or Scored" higher then others, things like roads are give in a higher "score" then a field, so yea sometimes it will take the longer path, because its ranked higher then the shortest path though the field or whatever, its possible that on newer meshes this hasnt been done yet, so you might have it run around a house. so yea, like tony said, if you could report issues like that to the thread he linked, we can work on scoring those area's so it doesn't react the way the drawing might depict.
