i botted 2 skirmish arenas and got a 6 month ban

im not really to fussed tbh i just bought a new wow account but this was my main mythic rogue and i botted 2 skirmish arenas and got banned so im guessing the bot isn't safe at all rn?

You got reported and manually investigated then penaltized?

i dont think you know how detections work

he maybe got unlucky report but right now tripwire is fully functional

I am aware, that most people on the board do not fully understand how the tripware is working. But actually, this is not necessary.

The point is that people "think" that know something about the tripware, and start theorycrafting about its functions, when its just an illusion.

Regarding the OP:

It is quite real to get banned after player reports, following a few arena games.

People playing arenas take it very seriously sometimes, and they transpose this "seriousness" in their ingame ticket(s), which is enough for the gamemasters to do their work.

tripwire already saved us many times. you think blizzard is happy to ban every 6 months, all the mean while their customers complain about bots? they would ban every week if they could, look how fast they hit Overwatch bot. the tripwire is so good they had to block IP ranges to circumvent it. :)

You are letting your bias completely cloud your judgment. Blizz doesn't want to do mass bans every week because it would hurt their bottom line. Don't act like Blizz isn't detecting with ease.

With EASE?? LOL!! 3 banwaves in 6+ years..they got some catch up to do still before you can make such a claim. if it were that easy why do they need to use dirty tricks to bypass the tripwire? buddy developers wont be fooled by that trick again, so if they want to make another banwave they will have to find another way, I think we are safe for another 6 months, maybe 1 year

Yes, they weren't getting caught in a ban wave the first 5 years. But they've had 3 in the last 12 months. That isn't easily detected?

How will they not be fooled by that trick again? They don't even know why they were detected in the first place.

3 huge banwaves in 1 year, tbh.
 
For me there are a lot of untrue messages around, from Blizzard and from Bossland...

Blizzard could easily scan all the time, maybe they do that who knows? But they ban in waves anyway. For me they should start to do instant bans as they did in the past with xyz etc...
Tripwire is for my nothing than a marketing gag, I said it already a few times and got even muted for that. I am doing it again and take the risk! Always another cheap excuse. Who knows if there was indeed a scan? Maybe just bossland switched it on to act like "we detected something".

This is my opinion and I am free to say it. If you want to mute or ban me again do it then....

Are you living under a rock? Tripwire literally JUST prevented a banwave and you say its a marketing gag?? your opinion is stupid :D

Are you Blizzard? Do you know if it worked or not? There has never been a Tripwire and just after the Banwave ;)

I just want to pick up some facts from Bossland/Tony "We don't know how we were detected" "The Tripwire config was wrong"...

And suddenly they know exactly that they just dogded a banwave? ;)

I am here for more than 5 years I think. I think I know what I am saying, but you must know it better anyway :)

Edit: Sorry, it is exactly 5 years today lol

A banwave is a banwave no matter how you try to justify it. It was 3 waves within a year. Banwave May 2015 - HB detected, Banwave Dec 2015 - Tripwire was set wrong, Banwave 2016 - HB detected. Yeah I count 3 Banwaves there. There was also a small banwave in January 2016.

How do you know this do you have the details?

How do we know they didn't just do it to make us think we are safe?
