I was wondering if anyone knows how what combo's to use for raiding with a hunter to see the best results. I have several premium including Tanahu. The question is how can I maximize my dps?
To start off with what bot base? I am using HazzNyo right now.
What CC, using Tanaha. What spec is best suited with it?
What settings do you look at in it and the bot to maximize your dps?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If this is in the wrong section sorry admin. Also, I did search for hunter dps, raid dps and mostly found really old articles from forever ago with what looks like outdated tools. Thanks in advance!

atm in HFC you have to play Marksman ... i play with Tuanha atm ... mostly i look at warcraftlogs.com there you see the hunter with the most dps and the rotation he used than i try to set the best config in the tuanha settings.

I haven't raided with hunter since hellfire citadel, but according to simulationcraft.org MM looks to be in the middle of the pack for single target dps, with the other two specs at the bottom. I used tuanha, to play survival and BM. You should be able to use the default raid settings and do just fine. I only made minor changes to control cc and interrupts myself. While I was raiding, I raided with a pretty decent guild and was always nearly on top of the charts. But then again BM was OP when HFC released.

Overall- I think you will yield better results as a BM hunter using Tuahna CRs..

Yes MM is currently a little higher in DPS (around 7%) but hunters overall are not topping the meters this tier (we have for the last 5 years).

unless you are in 735+ il gear it wont really matter if your BM or MM..

Surv on the other hand well that spec is messed up

Thanks for the replies guys. I just feel like with Tuahna my dps should be higher then it is.

Actually you will notice a difference in DPS between MM/BM as long as your good at maintaining your sniper training buff. also targets that you have to constantly switch targets that are far apart, you lose MASSIVE dps with BM hunter spec(all the time the pet takes to travel between positions) tuanHA had good dps before his recent updates and people said that it was bugging out by casting spells when barrage/etc wasn't done so possible increase, haven't tested yet i've been running something different/testing that can't really be talked about on here. BM is the most noob friendly because you dont have to stand still and can move at free will and still maintain same dps.

funny that I'm out DPSing our other hunter in our guilds mythic core raid team..

and he is 6 il higher then me ?

he is MM I'm BM.

raidbot are only a indication-

It seems like he recently did some changes for saving up/gaining more focus to use high priority abilities. It's still lack in the AoE department of what to use when so you have to tweak things a bit and for some fights turn off barrage and manual cast it for AoE instead of using it on cooldowns. Explosive trap is a mouseover hotkey for when there are enough adds. At 693 buffed without flask/pots/food I can do about 50k whether that's good or not I don't know but it's good enough for me.

Like previously said, keep up sniper training, if at all possible don't switch to adds that will die quickly so you don't have wasted cast time on adds that end up dying in that time frame.

Do not let it use explosive trap on CD.

Thecamel, BM is much better for AoE fights, it all comes down to how good the tanks/group is at keep adds clumped. It'll only be in pure single target fights in Mythic gear would MM really outshine BM.

edit: Last one I swear, if you are worried about pet travel you can keep it on the boss (turn off assist) and just have your dps go to the add.

What makes MM the preferred spec in HFC is not the overall damage. MM shines because of its ability to handle boss fights that require a ton of priority target swapping that need to be burst down quickly. BM just doesnt have the ability to do this. If you are seriously considering a progression guild then learn to play MM.

I guess what I was trying to say and didn't articulate well is that unless you are mythic raider, the difference is marginal.

I play BM with TuanHa and while I may not have the initial burst on the start of the fight. By the end of the fight I'm beating my MM counterparts in Damage, maybe not DPS. Mythic.

As far as i am completly new to hunter (playing since 2004 but havent played a single minute hunter till now) i would love to get with some of u guys in touch to setup my knowledge to get TuanHa running good for me. I guess i will give BM a try, because its also out of the raid the better spec for me. greetings
