[HowTo] Register and Configure BuddyCenter by Hand

Hi folks,

in case of so many posts from people not able to register BuddyCenter due to too high serverload I wrote this short HowTo to get it working for those unlucky guys out there...

1. hxxp://buddycentral.honorbuddy.tv/buddycenter/hbautoreg.php?username={*}&password={*} <-- change back the link to "http" and fill in your wanted username and password instead of the '*' and press ente

2. now u should get something like:

[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Times New Roman]APIKEY:[/FONT][/COLOR][COLOR=#008000][FONT=Times New Roman]5291xxxxxxxxxx67e401c964622e7[/FONT][/COLOR]
if not try again.

3. copy the key (green) and open the BCSettings.xml located in "<HonorBuddy-Folder>\Settings\
BuddyCenter Settings\BCSettings.xml" with the texteditor of your choice and insert the key between the APIKey tags

save the file back and start HonorBuddy.

If nothing went wrong u now should be able to configure and use the plugin...

Unfortunately this still doesnt work. I managed to get the API key, but attempting to log in via the plugin times out and locks up HB... Any suggestions?
 
If the APIKEY is inserted correctly there shouldn't be a logon window... If you want contact me via PM and we'll arrange a TeamViewer Session and I'll have a look for you're problem... As far as I tested it's working with multiple new generated accounts...

Wrong Section btw.

The Guide Section would be happy to see this thread. ;)

But still a good guide, worked for me, not on the first try, but worked. :D
 
Due I cannot post in the guide section I chose the place nearest to the plugin :)

I've followed all the steps instructed and when I start HB, this message comes up on the log:
[BuddyCenter]: BuddyCenter is succesfully loaded
I am also able to go configure the BuddyCenter plugin.
So I'm thinking great but then when I log into the status page, it says No Characters connected yet.
I click on the reset login info and try to log in with the same details, it says some error and then cannot connect to server.
Could someone please help me out? thank you
 
I followed these steps, got the API key, entered into the settings file, but when I try to login on the site the page reloads and the username and password field are empty.

No Prowl notifications are sent either (I have the Windows client installed and connected to my iPhone).

Does BuddyCenter no longer work?

Do you know how to get this to work for Notify My Android?
 
Thanks a lot for this great plugin. I have a question.

This worked perfectly well until yesterday and suddenly I stopped receiving messages into my android with NMA. Looking at the Bot log, the messages are being sent and when I look at buddycentral.honorbuddy.tv the messages are there. However I don't get them pushed to my smartphone. Any ideas?

hi,

the notifo app for android works, but doesnt push at the moment.
Its under developement, and i am hoping that they will implementate this function.

Now, i am working with the plugin GreekEmail and my Googlemail Acc for Push Whispers.
But it was a hard work to get it works ;O
 
I hope you get it to work again pushing messages to NMA. It was great when it was working. Keep up the good work!
