Hey all,

I have been away from wow and bot a while and now I m trying to turn back. Unfortunately company had some changes in security base of our network and they blocked battle.net

I do not know what exactly the name of software they are using to block the sites but it is some kind of program which catalogues the programs such as "games, streaming media etc". I need a way to bypass it since I want to monitor my bot in office and there is no other way of connection here other than company network. I have talked to our IT guy sincerely cause he also plays wow. He said he can not do anything because only headoffice can give access to blocked websites if there is a proper reason for it (like putting a normal web site in wrong catalogue and u have to use that website"

Do you think there is a way to win this? I think ppl have some ideas cause this is a "cheating" forum anyways :P I thought there might be another way to connect to game rather than getting connected to battle.net directly

Cheers and thnx in advance,

I'd honestly set up a SSH server and connect through 443 on the client. Don't let the names, etc.. intimidate your thinking... it sounds all advanced, but honestly it's pretty simple to set up. Just look up tutorials on how to create a SSH server and connect to it through another client on 443, or port 80. Router is a separate issue if it doesn't work, you then need to forward the router to the computer where the SSH server is located on.

I guess i am confused, your company set up a ***** and allows you install rights on the desktop? If you arent willing to set up your own SSH server, you can google the onion router, your choice of using a system wide ***** via T O R or just browser. I still dont understand why they would give you rights on a desktop and blacklist websites.. seems kind of self defeating.

O get help from the IT guy ( he is my friend and wow player) and he promoted me to "admin" lvl as a user. Admins can set up programs but still they still have limited access to internet.

Thank you guys for all replies, I ll try a SSH server first, if I cant not setup one, I ll give feedback again :)

Nice thread necro!

Please take this topic to a non-Bossland GmbH venue.
