Hi ! I am looking for a good way to full-afk level up my shaman (it's 30-40lvl now) and I was thinking about doing it through battle pets. Is it possible? What is the best way to do so? Or maybe is there any other safe way of leaving pc unatended for few hours a day?

It used to be possible. now it takes 3x longer than usual... as before you could be 1-90 in less than 15hours. now its like..... GG - 30-40-50hours with pet battles.

yeah, kind of.

you can AFK using questing, and run the pokehbuddy plugin,

or the pokehbuddy bot + profiles alongside it. there are some shared profiles, i'll find a link somewhere for them if needed.

try to limit this to 3-5 hour sessions as possible, or take a flying break to empty bags, etc. and resume the bot.
this way, you can be in a 'safe' level appropriate area, get quest XP and appropriate gear, and run around to level up pets in the area, without entirely being AFK. use monitor plugins where necessary.

alternatively, run gather2 and randombuddy , and it will create a stumbling profile of the area, which will not sync up with pet locations, but it will work AFK too. if you don't have a gather profession, it will run around uselessly and grind mobs instead.

both GB2 and questing will work, as will the pokehbuddy bot itself, which is an alternative to the plugin.

You should have some pets already collected at the lower levels, or a way to swap the pet levels around.
Battle Pet Swapper that comes with the newer version of Pokehbuddy by default, will even out the collection of pets so you get more XP per pet.

now, the downsides.

first, the pet combat plugin will interrupt about ... 40 quests that require timers, escorting mobs to safety, and anything significantly complicated will cause some issues. questing will generally get frumpy about not completing the quest, but it will pick it up again and start it from scratch when failed.

at the level 30 to 40 range, there are a handful of escort quests every 2 hours or so, but they are easy to resume. you can use cava or kick's profiles, they work well enough, if completely unapproved for both tasks, and very unsupported by both.

if you use a relogger or AFK plugins that bounce you for inactivity, they can get triggered by the stuck and timeouts that pet combat triggers, so edit those settings to wait 4 to 5 minutes for being stuck, or disable 3rd party plugins that do so.

you can use monitor plugins or gankoff, prevention to stop people camping you while in pet battles (it happens a lot on pvp servers, or timeless isle, etc.)

if you have a relogger, just set it for questing, as it's going to move between zones more easily without flying mount access,

pet battles will slow down questing by a lot, but it will pace it out over time, especially if gathering at the same time, or swapping between gathering and questing. in general, you need to do about ... 100 to 120 battles per level... so it's slower than the 35 to 50 quests per level.

that's about it.

hes how i lvl. since i play on EU and US servers with two seperate accounts. i have two monitors also.
chuck wow on one screen on US botting quest bot with kicks profile. while im reading uni stuff or watching lectures browsing net watching movie. then after 3 or 4 hours. i love EU and do the same.

too blizz it looks like im just taking a break for a few hours then coming back.

It's a big downside that it takes much longer with battle pets to level up.
How is it with kick's profiles now? Is there still many bugs that will make me look like a bot in game? I mean clicking the same npc for hours if I won't do anything? What is necessary for full afk questing? Is it worthy taking a risk?

cava generally doesn't get stuck like this, and with the battle pet XP in tow, you can skip ahead a little bit as it's level dependent.

i dislike cava's indiscriminate sale of all bag contents, as it has tried to sell heirloom items before, and soulbound items i'd rather keep or evaluate later, but this feature has improved since the early days of cava. i've not noticed it in some time.

pet battle xp = mob kill xp,

but where a kill takes 20-30 seconds, a battle takes 120-180 seconds.
using ringers makes the process quicker, usually 8 to 10 rounds, but it is laid back, and you can supervise the action. or lack of action.

the upside is that pet battles don't look bottish. everyone looks like an idiot chasing down butterflies and moths (set a 28/30 yard engage radius), and there's lots and lots of AFK standing around as it appears to others. even if now you can see the battle in progress.

generally,

what happens is, questing will mount up, head down a road to an objective, then PB will take a detour, dismount and walk to a pet, engage, then mount up again, repeat. when you're supposed to escort an NPC, it basically starts and detours again, leaving the NPC to struggle or die. if there's no pets nearby, it will not dismount, it will just quest.

as for the questing bot getting glitchy when quests are unavailable, or the flight master fetish, where the bot is always trying to touch flight points, every time, that's still there.

sometimes, you just need to start and stop the bot remotely, which the monitor plugins can do. occasionally you'll get a profile which wants you to fly to a major city and back for no reason other than the bot thinks you're starting in a new area, but those zone changes are limited to a handful of profiles. it's not as bad as the continent crossing for horde, that can still go wrong, but i still make it a habit to regularly AFK in akward positions when playing by hand. if you use a manager or relogger to take small breaks and sell items, you can AFK run multiple alts.

With PokeLevel on buddy store, you can do 1-90 in about 50 hours /played time, afk'able (at least on PvE servers. There's still a problem when being ganked on PvP servers - should be fixed soon).

EDIT: Damn, just figured that I necro'd this thread. It was linked to me, so I didn't notice the date. I am sorry for that.
