How to get past SMS verification for PayPal?

My account is registered in Austria, EU and I have no way of getting a cell phone in there.

What do?
 
Changing country to your current country isn't possible? Why would you set a different country then the one you're living in? RaF issues?

Calling the right department and phone numbers

There are 2 different departments that you can call, namely the Account and Payment support and the Technical Support. Choosing the right number is quite important else you might end up waiting in the wrong phone queue for quite a long time!


Account and Payment

You should contact these people if:
You want to change certain parts of your account registration information
You forgot the answer to your secret question
Your payments to Blizzard are getting rejected
Your payment methods are blocked
You?re having payment problems on the Blizzard Store

Account and Payment Support is available 9:30am to 10:00pm (Paris time), seven days a week.

Phone support is provided in English, French, Spanish, German and Russian. However, as there are many nationalities working at Blizzard they can try to answer your questions in a different language but this cannot be guaranteed.

Do note that if you?re trying to call with a mobile phone, charges may apply based on your phone provider. He said he's trying to get passed the SMS verification, not change his country. Changing your country is much easier then that, just send them an ID with and a utility bill from where you live and wait 24 hours. But i have a slight feeling it's not what he wants :)
 
After 5-6 times of it asking me for SMS verification code (and me not giving it one) it stopped asking me and allowed me to post auctions. How that is security I have no idea.

The money isnt sent instantly to you're paypal account, it usually takes a few days. Unless you provide them with the sms verification, the money won't be released. Also, money withdrew in blizz account don't need SMS verification =)

Indeed. I bough my battle.net account years ago from an Austrian guy who was selling his WOW character.

So my account has his name, address and country. And I live in a total different place.

Before changing the country in the account, i would need to send Blizzard scans of my ID with proof of address with the info currently on file, which obviously I don't have.

But how did you enable the "Battle.net SMS protect" ?

In order to activate it, you need to provide them with a cell number to send a code.
 
I'd also like to know. I have Great Britain as acountry, because of RaF. Is there any way of getting GB phone number? I dont want to change country to real one just for phone number, because they dont allow RaF here.

Sadly there is no way to bypass this. I would suggest creating ne bnet account and asking blizzard support if they can "move" your d3 licence there.
 
I just added paypal without enambling sms protect, so i wouldnt be able to sell items ?

I haven't tested, but from what I read up on RMAH FAQ, you need to enable SMS protect on your account in order to sell via PayPal. Selling via Blizz account just needs an a
uthenticator.
Haven't actually sold any item on RMAH yet, just reading the FAQs :) Maybe someone who actually sold something can confirm this?​
 
Also, I've found some sites which give you UK/US/whatever country number you need, but Blizz identify them as VoIP numbers and also dont want to work with them.
So, I'm looking for someone with GB number... :D
