How to gather herbs?

I just bought this, and I set everything up (what I assumed would be) correctly.
But every time I click start so I can start to gather whiptail, it says "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
What does that mean?

When you've done that and it's still not working for you, please remember to always attach a full log: How To: Attach your HB log file [with pictures]

Also; include at least the following details:
- What "bot" did you set it to? (GatherBuddy2, QuestBot, BGBuddy, etc.)
- What profile did you load?
- What zone were you in when starting the bot?

That should give us the information we need to help you.

Are there any premade profiles I can use? All I want to do is farm whiptail in Udlum.

The bot I'm using is Gatherbuddy2.
Where do I find these profiles to load?
I'm in Uldum.

The error I'm getting is:
Starting the bot!
This profile does not contain any profiles fitting the character!
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

use profiles from here

If you buy lifetime you should also look into making your own profile's. This will help you stay under the radar and not get the ban hammer.

Then go to the Profiles forum to get some profiles to get you started: Gatherbuddy 2 Profiles (HB)
Then do realize that Uldum is a danger zone! There are many bots there and there's a good chance you'll be spotted if you bot there for too long. If you're using someone else's profile the chance increases. So don't bot there too long. Just start by running an hour or so. Then when you're confident that the bot works for you, start looking at how to make your own profiles.

Do remember: This is not a "Click once and everything will magically work perfectly" bot. This is a highly customizable bot that needs to be customized. Use this forum as much as you can; there's a treasuretrove of information here including Custom Classes for your combat, plugins that'll automate stuff for you, profiles that will quest, gather and craft for you. And then when you run into real trouble, there's Tony the Fixer

What happens when you're caught? Is it a profile permanent ban, or just a character ban?

Ohh okay. That makes sense.
So you can only be caught manually?
Like... If someone is following and watching? what if you did instances every now and then?

If you want to see true bot trains, go to IoC BG at 3-6am
