How to edit a Mesh file

I see in some posts they say that you can edit the mesh manual to do X, Ive tried opening the mesh with a text editor and its just garble is the a specific program I should use to edit these?

You cannot edit a mesh YET. You can edit the xml though. That's where all your settings and hotspots are

To do this, just open the xml on Notepad. (or something to that effect)

Notepad++ advised http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/ (as u can open alot more files with that one and have it colorcoded according to the language used).
