The title says it all really, but a sub question would be what cost had they put on being clean of bots?

No way to know untill official numbers are released, I'm very curious :) I also lost everything and its a good time to move on, their game is going down quickly anyways, I will never forget this software, most amazing piece of art in history! Thank you buddyteam, looking forward to future projects !

@ tjjj im also Banned for 18 Months. Cause Blizzard can do it Bann thousands - 1 million of players in WoW. In The past was WoW the Most Played Online game from Blizzard. Cause now with Hearthstone 30 -40 mio Player and there pay maybe 5-10% for the Game they do their main profit with it not more with fuking World of Warcraft.
They can theoretical close wow forever . Would be 0 Problem for Blizzard. They Got Hearthstone , Diablo 3 , Starcraft 2, Overwatch soon and Heros of the Storm they do Still Millions of Dollar per Month withot WoW.

I to was banned on the 16th after many years of playing WoW since 2005 & lost everything, yes it will be a good time to move on the
game had died many years ago with All its User friendly updates it has become a cash cow for Blizzard nothing else. good bye & good
riddance, time to start up the X Box one again where real game play exists. thanks to All the Buddy Team for your help over the years.

We'll never know how many users they lost. Blizz doesn't give figures on subs any longer, plus they didn't give figures for the last banwave either. There's no reason for them to announce the number of suspended users at all.

Wow is still the most played mmo no matter what your personal feelings are on the game. You children sound angry for getting your hand caught in the cookie jar. If you didn't want to lose your account for botting, maybe you shouldn't have botted on your 10 year old account.

Oh..and the xbox one is the only platform that has real game play...You're totally right on that matter  Wow is the only computer game that's ever been released!

nothing because all addicted wow players botters like my self wil rebuy the game anyways alot of people in guilds where i was in where banned aswel for just using rotation bot

you sound angrier then the rest of these guys. Did you not get banned and feel like this is your time to make people who feel bad worse? I am sure he knew the risks. He isn't lashing out on HB or Blizz just said his peace and is moving on. Why must you mock him on that. What do you get out of this?

No, actually, I haven't been banned...On either of the 2 accounts I've botted on in the last 2 weeks, so I have no reason to be angry. I'm actually logged into one of those accounts right now running a different bot.

How can someone feel bad when they've been told from day 1 that they would be banned eventually? I feel no remorse for anyone, ever, that has been banned. I've lost many, many accounts throughout the years, I've never threatened to quit, nor have I ever blamed anyone but myself for being banned.

you also know your pets are gonna die one day, does that mean i should give my pet? No you still nourish it and spend time with it and when the time comes most humans will still be saddened by the event. For most people the saddness doesn't come the loss of an account but more from their attachments to it. For someone this was actually a good thing since it may have freed up sometime that they actually needed but the habit of playing the game hindered them from it.

Figures you weren't banned, easier to be a dick that way.

Comparing your wow account to a family pet...I could also make ridiculous analogies all day that have nothing to do with each other, too, but I don't see the point in it.

Call me what you will, sorry you're so easily offended by the truth. Keep on defending everyone with all your posts. I'm sure someone here actually enjoys all the knowledge you're spewing.

I just got banned for 6 months on my main account which I have been playing since 2006. I am happy because I was addicted to the game and the only was I could play more was to bot. Leveled up 11 toons to farm various mounts, pets and achievements that made me want to play more. I believe they have lost their most loyal player base as without bots many old wow players can't play the game or keep up with stuff as they used to before they were married or in work etc.
I have been botting since Cata and I think this is the time walk away from wow and look ahead.

Dumb question, this makes money for blizzard. It's a marketing tactic.

Look how they timed it, right after Legion pre-sale. How many lapped that up?

Then they have the other sale going on WoW and Draenor, so all these butthurt people can feel obligated to lick their wounds with fresh accounts.

Meanwhile, 6 month ban will expire right before Legion, so you can still come back and pay up then if you haven't yet.

They barely lose any subscription $ because 90% of botters pay with gold.

And the secondary effect of bragging about cleaning up the game will attract more $$ from returning players who left because of bots affecting their experience and AH prices.

When was the last ban wave? Right before Draenor release. Not a coincidence.

No, the last banwave was long after WOD was released. The last banwave was in May, WOD was released on November 13, 2014. That's half a year later.

Forgot about that one, but still, the last one before that was the Draenor pre-release. 8 month rotation or strategic timing, there is a pattern and reason, i tell you :)

And it definitely makes them more money.

Yeah i agree Goz, ive been far too addicted to this game and its almost a relief to be banned for 6 months, maybe il come back to it for legion but theres alot of other games to sink my teeth into.

Dumb question

Not really, there are plenty like myself that didnt farm for gold and used it for other things like PvP. I know there is a huge community of players who will be in the same boat as me who werent gold farming.

i think they make +$$
the gold for gametime really cut into their revenue stream , and they have been forced into taking these kinds of actions to still get $$$ out of us

Uh, no. They make $5 more if you pay for your gametime with gold.

Who do you think is buying that token? Some chump who needs gold.

They love you guys, After a banwave you keep feeding them.

Exactly.

I'll show them!!! *buys 20 accounts and bots them all to get banned again and repeat the process*

Meanwhile blizz laughs it all to the bank.
