How much of a risk am I taking if I start to bot?

I know that I'll never be able to know for sure what action can be taken against my account, but I'm just looking for some advice here.

I've played WoW for 12 years on my account. I'm just worried about a permaban and losing so much time and money if I start to bot. My friends are promising me that my first offense will only give me a 1-2 day ban, but I'm still worried.

Can I get some recent info about Blizzards ban policies and how severe/lenient they are being lately? How much do you guys bot, have you gotten banned recently, for how long, etc etc.

Previously, the first ban is 3 days. But you may be lucky and have a perm ban right away.

However, currently, the first suspension is 6 months. increasing to 1 year and 6 months for the second. That if you are using the bot to everyday things: Quest, Leveling and the like. If you are using to farm, PVP, AH. probably will be a pernban.

The best advice to you is comrpar uam secondary account, and use the bot in this for 6-12 months. So you will learn to use bot and pyro of hypotheses, this account will be banned, and not the main long as you do not send anything from this account to your main account.

BOT is never safe and lately the blizzard is picking up at the foot of the wearer. A ban should never come as a surprise.

You will (at least assume to) get hit by the ban hammer at some stage while botting. It may be a day or 2 years but the likely-hood of seeing the banhammer is high.
Seems that blizz have changed the first offence to 6 months (only my personal observation) but I guess it depends on the person reviewing your account.
If you are playing on your prized 12 year account, and it means alot to you then I'd advise not playing on that account and starting up a dummy account to bot on that you are prepared to lose.

You are going to get a 6 month ban at a bare minimum for botting. They only do 1-3 day bans for profanity violations these days.

Just buy a second account to bot with ,and if you bot correctly it'll pay for itself in less than a month .
