Hey guys, just curious how many VM's an i7 4790K and GTX 970 run with 16 gig of RAM?

Question is not correct, because every VM have a individual settings.

At fast cpu's (I5 2600+ and higher) Archeage limited in most cases only by RAM. Every client=2gb for comfortable working. So you can run 7-8 clients. But if you run VM's, them takes some RAM for OS, and number of clients decreases.

I appreciate the detailed post immensely! The question was abit of silly one I admit... I'm thinking of upgrading my PC and i7 4790K is in my sights! Would a faster CPU mean much difference in the quality of the VM? I could go the i7 5820K with DDR4 RAM. Only looking at around 4-5 clients!

To work perfectly of 4-5 clients you need any i5+ cpu. Ram speed is not principial, only amount. Videocard is GF730 or higher.

If you wish to separate each client to own VM, then ~3GB ram for one, and hyperthreading cpu is more valuable.

What exactly is the point to using VM's with archebuddy? HWID is already hidden? MAC is already hidden? If you use a socks5 that hides your IP? So what exactly is the benefit of a VM with this?

HWID is not hidden. Mac is not hidden. GG can detect how many clients is running.

What are you talking about? You're completely contradicting what the developer has said multiple times.. It's a generated HWID/Mac each time. Are you saying they aren't spoofed when Out says they are? And yes, they can detect there are numerous clients running since it's the same game installation if a GM were to investigate, that's the only reasoning behind it I can think of. But they don't seem to do this since my names on different socks5's are never banned when for instance my other 2 on the same IP were.

For reference..

AB haven't way to control all of the GG activity. And situations, when gm bans more than one account in some pc is not rare (with different IP, ofc). So I think gg have a different way to receive additional info about running clients. And botters have only one guaranted solution - using vm's.

Exactly this, some people wouldn't risk their main for ANYTHING.
